Flu Shot anyone?

Now that it is getting that time of year I was just wondering who all gets the flu shot and the H1N1 and now a shot for shingles.  I have never seen that shot before.  Last year I had the flu shot.  This year I will do the same.  I still am not sure about the H1N1 shot and I will look into the shingles shot.   Is there any reason we can not have the shingles shot?  I know people who have shingles.  It is not fun stuff. 

I have not heard any reason we can't get the shingles shot.  My DH will be getting his this year, I am not old enough yet.  I've been told you have to be 60 to get it even though you can be younger then that and get shingles.

I get the flu shot every year.  I did not get the H1N1 last year.  My doc insisted on me getting the shingles shot -- I'm 71, and had absolutely no problem with it.  Think too you are supposed to be 60 for the shingles shot. Check with your PCP on that.

I wonder why there is an age requirement to get the shingles shot when you can get shingles at any age?? 

Working in the health profession I get both as well as both of my sons. One in college, (high risk)

Will do the same this year but not till October

You can get the shingles vaccine at any age.  However, most insurance companies will not pay for it unless you are 60 years old.  No matter if you are deemed high risk or not.  

I get the flu and the H1N1 vaccine. 

I get my flu shot every year, last year I also had to get the H1N1 vaccine because I work in a doctors office it was a  requirement.  I know you can get the vaccine for shingles but not all insurances will cover the cost unless you are over the  age of 60.
