Last Monday of August

Good Monday Morning!

How was your weekend? . . mine was just to short.

I am back to work now after my 16 days of vacation and it was great to just do what I wanted to do. ..  Now back to work on afternoons and ready to get back into my routine.

QOTD - Is there one thing you do everyday that is just for you?

I sit each morning and have quiet time in the wicker rocker on my porch . . with my cup of protein coffee . . I pray, meditate . . and get  my brain ready for the day.

Enjoy your day!

Good morning Kristy and all to follow...

Can't we just jump back in time to the beginning of June and have another summer all over again? This one was too short and I don't want it to end yet.

My weekend was good.  Got some errands done Saturday morning and had a date in the afternoon/evening ... Sunday I wrote a bunch on the book project and then took my Nook to the park and enjoyed the sunset next to the river.

QOTD -- I really like your morning routine Kristy. If I could get my butt out of bed earlier in the morning I'd do the same thing. My quiet time is in the evening just before bed - but I think I'd rather do it at the beginning of the day so I have time to enjoy the after-affects rather than just going to sleep afterward instead.

LOL! Yep, Pam had a date. And Pam's got another date this coming Saturday - for either kayaking or antiquing, not sure what yet. Still not 100% convinced about this whole thing and trying really really hard not to overanalyze this thing to death... so I'm just laying low and seeing what happens.

Last Monday in August but the first Monday of the rest of my life!

Had my surgery last Tuesday (the 24th) and am almost through my first full week.  Doing pretty well and feeling better each day.  I'm sure I will come to rely on the wisdom and guidance of you wonderful Michiganders who have "been there, done that"!

QOTD- I like to begin my day with a moment of prayer and meditation.  I usually do this for a few minutes before I climb out of bed.  Because once I'm up, the day pretty much takes over.

Wishing you all a fabulous week!

Hey y'all (sorry to many country concerts lately :) ).  Speaking of concerts, my BFF won tickets to Aerosmith tomm. night and I'M GOING, since the tickets are from a radio station they should be pretty darn good seats too!!!  I'm excited!!!

I had a good weekend, we had friends over Saturday night.  Blanched tomatoes Sunday (much easier than I thought it would be) and went to see Toby Keith and Trace Atkins last night.   I'm with Pam, I hate to see summer coming to an end, I am sick of 90's, but would take them over the 20's any day!

Q:  I wi****ook the time out to pray and meditate daily.  I actually do listen to Joel Osteen in the car (keeps me from road rage :), but I don't take the time to sit quietly and reflect, I really need to do that.

Have a great day all,

Edie

Hi everyone!

Boy I feel like I've been out of touch for a while!  Where did August go??  Seems like we were just getting all the wedding plans in place and now I'm married and living the hectic life again.   This is my second Monday of driving to work from Chelsea to Midland!  It's about an hour and forty five minute drive.  I loved working from home on Thursday and Friday last week and am looking forward to that schedule of working in the office M,T,W and from home Thur & Fri.

Pam - details, we want details - LOL

QOTD:  Before this month, it was exercise.  I worked out almost every day and really felt good aftewards...both mentally and physically.  But I froze my membership at Sueng-ni since the first of August since I knew I was going to be out of town for the wedding and then a 2 week honeymoon.  I can't go bac****il next week since they make you freeze it for a minimum of a month.  and then I don't know what I'm going to do because with only being in Midland a couple days a week, it's not worth paying for a full price memership.

I agree with Edie - I need to take some time to pray and reflect more.  I do when I'm making the drive back and forth to Chelsea, but I need to do it daily.

Have a good week everyone.  Tomorrow I'm off to move my youngest son to college!!

Nan, now that you live in Chelsea, have you checked out the Wellness Center?  I LOVED going there.  I gave up my membership when I quit working, but I'm thinking about re-joining the next time they run their special where you don't have to pay to join, which costs $200.  They usually run it in Jan/Feb.  They ran it twice this year.  I almost joined in June, the last time they ran it.  It's not cheap, though.  For the 2 of us, we paid a little over $100 a month.  But I really liked it and miss the pools in the winter time!  They offer lots of classes and they have child care, which is another reason, I'm thinking of joining again.  I may check out the YMCA in Ann Arbor, too.
