I'm approved
Just completed on more step of my journey.....
Had my visit with the bariatric physician this afternoon and had WLS coverage confirmed with my insurance before the end of the consultation...no pre-approval required! I guess this is it...I'm really going to do this...wow.
Took care of all the labs today, glad to have those out of the way. I meet with the surgeon and behaviorist on September 15th. Surgery will likely be scheduled for late October (due to my own schedule not the surgeons). Just can't believe how fast things are moving now. But still have to make a decision on which surgery to go with... I'm leaning toward RNY. The doc recommended either the band or RNY for me. Sleeve is not covered.
Decisions, decisions, decisions....
I'm so excited and scared at the same time. Starting BMI : 41.2

Congrats on starting your journey. Take this time you've got to read, research and listen. There are ups and downs to every surgery. Personally if I were you I'd choose RNY, stat's show that you loose more with RNY than band. Plus if you have any comorbitities they resolve quicker, because you loose quicker. Personally I went in the hospital on diabetes, high blood pressure and gerd meds and left the hosp on Previcid only, and that was/is a preventative.
Best thing I ever did!
Good luck and again, read, question and listen, you'll learn allot and make the right decision for you.
