Hi everyone! I started this process 2 years ago but found out I had a bleeding disorder and couldn't have surgery at the Barix Clinics. Since then I have had a baby and now I am looking into having the RNY again. Does anyone have any suggestions of doctors or facilities I should look into. I live in Canton, MI but would be willing to drive if I needed to. I am also looking for a weight friendly PCP. Thanks.

In the Grand Rapids area there is Grand Health Partners.  They are vetted surgeons who offer all 4 WLS surgery options.  I had Dr. Kemmeter.  He has always been very kind and really looks at the big picture for each patient.  The office staff is wonderful and very helpful with all aspects.

Dr. Hendrick out of Henry Ford Wyandotte Hospital is GREAT!

I honestly can't say enough about him.  He is very straight forward and doesn't hold anything back but at the same time he is compassionate.  He isn't that far from Canton.  A good 30 minutes but it will be worth it.  All surgeries are done on Mondays and as long as there are no complications you go home on Wednesday.  You will love him.  His Insurance lady is Keysha and the NUT is Rachel.  Rachel is a sweetheart who will bend over backwards to answer your questions and put your fears at ease.

I don't have their info at hand my 2 year old threw my phone in the toilet this morning so I am kinda at a loss as far as getting ahold of anyone today.  Give them a call!

I went to Dr. Elhorr at Harper Hospital in Detroit. I had a great experience all around. His office is in Dearborn Heights. He took great care of me and gave me his cell phone number at my first visit in case I wanted to text him with any questions or concerns. Harper is a teaching hospital (Wayne State). His office number is 313-274-4825
