Yay, for Saturday!!!

Good Saturday morning, everyone!  Been up a while, had my coffee and shared some yogurt and blueberries with Dub.  The best part, though, is that daddy is home with us, too!!  He's on vacation for the next two weeks and has worked just about every weekend the past month or so.  So, it's nice to have him home on a Saturday morning.

QOTD:  This is directly related to what we're doing today.  We had plans to get some things done OUTSIDE, around the house, but now with the rain we're getting at the moment, we won't be able to mow the yard or put the last coat of paint on the basement door (painting it outside with a sprayer).  I guess that means we have a free day.  I'm trying to talk hubby into going to Great Lakes Crossing, to go to Bass Pro, of course (among other stores).  So, what do you do when a rainy day foils your best laid plans?  

Good morning!

I've been up for a couple hours... putzing around the house and surfing the net. Now I need to focus on my big task for the weekend which is working on my book and seeing how close to a final draft I can get by Monday morning. But I've got a family reunion this afternoon and I"m on Grandma duty tomorrow evening... so lots of other stuff to do too. At the moment I"m having some breakfast of WLS-friendly pancakes and warm raspberry sauce.

QOTD -- I have a to-do list a mile long so there's never any want for something to do or to get done. But if I'm in the mood to play instead of work I'll usually head out somewhere instead. Spending the afternoon at Barnes & Noble browsing the book with a skinny latte or even just taking my laptop to Starbucks for a while are good options. Or just curl up with a book or a movie on the couch and enjoy the rain outside.

I also have been up for a while.  I plan on practicing being on plan today and officially starting tomorrow (new month and all...).  I haven't been very consistant and still hovering around where I was last fall.  I need to get the scale moving.

QOTD-I was going to paint the girl's room today (finally), but now I can't.  I also have a big indoor to-do-list.  I plan on cleaning today.  Maybe I will pack for my trip to Detroit this week.  I am scared.  I have never driven that far or crossed the bridge driving.  It will be a 10 hr drive!

Sorry to hear you are driving 10 hours and JUST going to Detroit!   I'm not quite sure(without looking at a map) where Baraga is, but man, if I have to drive 10 hours, I sure as heck don't want to end up in Detroit! LOL!  I guess that depends on what's waiting for me in Detroit.  I'm just kidding, of course.  Hope your travels are uneventful! 

Thanks for the safe travel wishes.  Baraga is in the far western upper peninsula.

Well, if I'd had to guess where Baraga was, I would've said western U.P.  I'm only about an hour from Detroit and about 5 or 6 hours from U.P., so I knew you weren't just across the bridge.  I've lived in MI almost my ENTIRE life and I've only been across the bridge ONCE!! We spent about enough time in the UP to take a few pictures of the bridge and then we headed back south.  We really want to head back to the U.P. sometime, and see the falls, etc. 

If you ever do let me know.  We could meet up!

Just had a salad for lunch and now I am working on some crystal light.  I've already been to two yard sales today.  got me a new bathroom scale and a pink purse :)

qotd:  I like to take the kids to the dollar movies when it rains.  It kills a couple hours and doesn't break the bank. umm, unless we hit the concession stand.  Otherwise, just sitting around watching Natgeo is what I enjoy the most.

My husband when he first went into Corrections was going to be sent to Baraga.  We head up to Mackinaw and the U.P. at least once a year.   Love it there, and would love to talk my husband into transferring to Baraga now..lol

Not sure what to do today. Looks yucky outside, although no rain yet.

It hasn't rained yet here in Armada (northern Macomb county) - but it has looked like it's going to all day.  We bought some new perennials for our backyard and planted those this morning - looking good!  And I have been playing on my computer for a while - changed my Avatar!

QOTD:  On a rainy day I love to curl up on the couch and read, or watch a movie with my family.  And especially love to take a nap when it's all rainy outside -  I don't feel guilty about snoozing, like I do when it's sunny and beautiful out!
