Hello All!

I am now a member of your little club! I had my RNY on the 15th and am now about 10 days post op.  The initial recovery was awful, but I feel so much better the last couple of days and am on an upswing.

I go back to my weight management center tomorrow for my first meal advancement. Any ideas on what they'll let me have? Is cottage cheese or mashed potatoes too much to hope for? I've been craving a cheese omelette, but I think I've got my hopes up too high.

I just wanted to check in and say "Hey"!

Welcome to the losers bench!!!!

Each doctor has a different set of standards... but I would guess to say that the omelette is out for now... But soon it will happen.... I personally lived on Liver Pate' and Liverwurst for a while... Oh and Peanut Butter along with the protein shakes....  I was actually pretty satisfied with that even though I had my surgery right before Thanksgiving and couldn't eat but broth for Thanksgiving and soft foods for Christmas... But is was all well worth it...

You will do just fine... Good Luck!!!!

Congrats.....I'm glad your feeling better!  The first few weeks are a bit rough, but it does get better.   I'm sure you've read how many of us would do this again, so maybe it's like childbirth, all's forgotten when the baby is being held and all's forgiving when you look in the mirror in a year and your health is so much better :).

As far as your food is concerned, as it's been said, every Dr. is different.  I don't think cottage cheese or mashed potatoes would be a bad thing at this point, but be careful with all the carbs in the potatoes, try them very slowly.

If you know your food limitations and want some ideas, just let us know.

Again, congrats,

Edie
