Flint-area support group(s)?
Hello!
Since everyone seems to be using my name in vain... I'll pipe in.
Hopefully you get this message today cuz there's a meeting TONIGHT! This one tonight is at Hurley Health and Fitness Center (corner of Hemphill and Saginaw) at 5:30. It's the informal peer-based group lead by Jim. We meet in the classroom down the hall - go in the front door and turn right down the hall passed the vending machine.
So there's actually 3 different group meetings you could attend. I have a blog post that goes into detail about how each of the 3 groups operate and the differences in the dynamic. Hurley's Support Meetings -- 1st Monday of each month at 5:30 p.m. -- this is open to ANY wls patient, not just Hurley patients.
Flint Area Bariatric Support (FABS) - 3rd Monday of each month at 5:30 p.m. -- very informal, fun group and we tend to talk about everything under the sun. We've got a Google Group you can join for meeting announcements.
Bay City Area Support Meetings - 3rd Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. -- this is the one that I lead and we just changed our meeting dates to the 3rd Tuesday (haven't even announced it yet to the folks who weren't at the last meeting). If you're interested in joining, just send me your email address and I'll get you on the distribution list for meeting announcements.
Holler if you have questions... hope you can make it to the one tonight! (and if you can't make it by 5:30, that's OK, I can't either and usually walk in about a half hour late to the Flint meetings).
