Revision
Hi There,
I am pretty sure Barix can revise you to RNY. You can call Dr. Schram's office and ask them to check out your insurance for you. If your bmi is high enough you may not even need to do anything. Its worth a try.

Thank you everyone that responded. I have had the lapband since 02/08 and did pretty good losing about 55lb until 01/09 and since then it has been non stop fills unfills, being too tight, or too loose. It is hard for me to find that spot where I can comfortably continue to loose. I have gained all back except about 20lb. I'm thinking of getting a revision but don't know which kind I should get. I am 5'5" and weigh about 203 right now. I do have a Dr. appt in August to check the band out. Thanks again : )
You would be doing yourself a disservice if you did not check out the duodenal switch WLS. With a RNY, you just might need another revision later on, and the only way to go is up, and up is the DS. Drs. Kemmeter/Foote in GR do the DS as Dr. Hares in Clawson, Dr. Lutryzkowski at Crittendon in Rochester, and i believe there is a Dr. McFarland in Pontiac who all do the DS. Check out the "revision" board here on OH and see how many from the RNY are looking for revisions. I had RNY in '05, had revision to the DS in '09, it is the best thing, more substantial weight loss, better chance of keeping weight off, better eating, etc. The criteria is the same as the first time, 35 BMI with 2 co-morbids, or 40 BMI and not need co-morbids. GOOD LUCK!

I LOVE MY DS!!!!!
STRIVE TO BE THE BEST YOU CAN BE AND DO THE BEST THAT YOU CAN.
Check out www.dsfacts.com and www.duodenalswitch.com for all the accurate information on the great DS, and find surgeons in your area or around the country or out of the country.
I couldn't have done without all the great peeps on this board.

Since you are in the Holland area...Please check out Dr. Kemmeter at Grand Health Partners. He is an excellent surgeon and does band revisions. He is one of the leading DS docs in this area (and performs all of the surgical options out there). Julie R posted recently that Kemmeter is, first and foremost, a gastro trauma surgeon (so he knows his way around the gut pretty well)
