Curls

Has anyone had their hair grow back curly?????  I'm experiencing this problem right now.  It seems like I'm pretty much finished losing my hair, but now my hair is growing back curly.  I don't really like it either.  I could always just wash my hair and blow it dry in three minutes, but now, I have to blow it dry and straighten it.  What's up with that??????????
Just shy a couple of days, from my year and I feel awesome.  Hope all are doing well.  Going down to help Jay and Jess with Joshua in the morning.  He's sick and not eating, for almost a week, and Jay has been vomiting and has a fever.  I'd like to let them just struggle thru this, but they called and said they really need my help.  What's a new Gram to do?

Mine grew back gray!!!  But I've heard of others who has drastic changes in their new hair growth -- either curly or pin straight or even a different texture.   I say don't fight it, just throw some gel in your new do and let it air dry and go for the curly look.  :-)

Mine came back curly.  It's almost grown out now,****ep my hair shoulder length) but remember, I'm over 2.5 years out, so it stayed curly a long time. I would advise you to play with it and get used to it, you may have it for awhile!

I finally had to cut my hair real short.  It got so frizzy and damaged. Remember Bozo the clown.  That's how I seen myself when I looked in the mirror.  I would love for the curl to come back to my hair.  The second round of radiation made it go flat 9 years ago.  I have to say I do like my hair this short but my kids are not so happy. 

Hey Ya'll...I am 8 yrs. out this Nov. 4th...I lost hair in the beginning and am losing by the handfuls again.....I am thinking it is because I am anemic....maybe something to do with the surgeries I have had this year and about to have one again on the 28th...,Good thing I had a ton to begin with......

Here is an article that I think is worth checking out.  It shows which labs that you should have drawn as a WLS patient to determine if your hair loss is caused by some sort of nutritional deficiency.   But hair loss could also be attributed to other factors such as low thyroid function, genetics, stress, or the effects of having major surgery.  Stress and surgery are considered telogen effluvium.  You're lucky you had a ton of hair to begin with ... hair loss runs in the females in my family so I have an extra strike against me.  It is coming back and I'll never have thick hair again.  I just got my Joan Rivers' Good Hair Day in the mail to cover some extra scalp-y looking spots.  Good luck getting your levels check and with your upcoming surgery.

Mine came back curly too and it is a pain in the butt.  The humidity the last two months hasn't helped it either.   I'm trying to go with it curly since I don't want to add extra time to my morning routine but I haven't found any products that I really like yet.  I'm still not used to styling it.  Hopefully I will get the hang of it soon.
