Morning All,

We got back yesterday from up north.  I had a great time, posted some new pictures.  We went the derby in Harrison which was wonderful.  There were more cars this year and lots of roll overs.  The fireworks were shorter this year but more fantastic.  They had problems with their board and had to light them manually.
We went to the mini water park in Cadillac.  It was  a lot of fun.  I love water slides.  I was worried I was going to gain on vacation but I think all the stairs kept the scale in line.  Mackinaw was fun and the weather was great.

QOTD:  Have you had your vacation yet? and was it as good as you hoped??

My answers

QOTD:  I had a great time.  There were a few hiccups.

My oldest son and mom fought they entire time.

I had a wonderful room reserved at the hotel.  Huge 3 bed room that was lake front with a balcony.  The hotel over booked and I was shoved into a small 2 bed room with 2 roll a way beds.  I did get  a great price on the room so it almost made up for the bad room.

My oldest son got food poison from the pizza shop on the Island and we left  early the next morning instead of looking through all the shops.

Good morning!!  (I finally made it here in the am)

QOTD:
We have not had our vacation yet...it was postponed due to son's All-Star baseball team and hubby's option to work 16 hours of overtime--how can we turn down overtime when so many people are unemployed?

We will be going to Ford Lake in the UP in  a week or two.  We just like to camp and hang out with a day trip or two--maybe Fayette and Marquette this year.  Any suggestions?

Morning Cheryl and all to follow,

Cheryl you are getting so small, GREAT JOB!

I have today off, of course I'm going to clean the house, but then I'm going shopping, then hubby is going to meet me and we're going to go to the movies, prob. to see Toy Story 3.  Tomm. morning I'm having a massage, ahhhhhhh, can't wait.  Then some time this weekend since it is finally cooling off we're taking the puppies to the park for the first time and introducing them to a lake, I can't wait to see their reaction.  We got them DNA tested and they are mostly lab and golden retriever so since their retriever squared they should love the water, their definitely intrigued by the hose and the water that pools on the grass, so we shall see!

Q:  We don't really vacation in the summer.  I love my yard and the weather in MI in the summer so we usually go up to the family cottage a few times, go to the local parks for picnic's......but we save our big vaca's for the winter when we'd like to get away from the weather here.  Also since we don't have kids we can go on vaca when there's not allot of families getting in the way hahahaha! (not meant to offend you families out there, but face it if I can go to a resort or on a cruise ship and only deal with adults I'm a happier person....we've had foster kids in the past, so been there, done that)

Have a great weekend all,

Edie

Today is a day off for me, too.  We are getting ready for a big garage sale this weekend, so I will be cleaning out, organizing and all that stuff.  At least the weather will be a lot nicer to sit outside for the sale - not like those stifling hot days we had.

QOTD:  I did have one week off in June, but used it to drive my daughter back and forth to basketball camp.  But I did some reading, some gardening and just some general laziness  I have a week off in July too - 2 weeks to go - but that is going to be spent driving same daughter to a writer's camp at Meadowbrook.  Not bad, though - she's only there for 3 hours each day and I will spend that time looking at the gardens, reading outside and relaxing.

Good Afternoon!

Cheryl you look great!

I have been about a mile behind on everything lately . . but trying to catch up.  Life is so busy in the summer and I have decided that I need sticky notes on me just to remember what and where I should be going and what I should be doing.

QOTD - I went to Tennessee last month for a week to visit friends and I am planning a trip to Mackinaw late next month but that is it.  I have 18 days off in August and it's a "stay-cation".   I am going to clean closets and paint my swing and just lay around.

Enjoy the nice weather this weekend I am working double shifts both days!

Hey all!

It's the end of the day and I'm watching TV in my beautiful living room.  Just made some jello fruit bars for the picnic tomorrow - it turned out cute! Pics for the blog tomorrow.

QOTD -- I had to jump into this thread because of the question.  LOL!  I'm going on vacation soon - next Friday after work I'm heading north for a week. I'll be camping and communing with nature.  It's right on the Rifle River and the campground is across from the canoery -- planning to give a try to kayaking. Hopefully I don't drown myself in the process.

I'm also heading to Ohio in August for the OH Conference!!!  WooHoo!  If anyone else is going we need to talk about carpools and stuff.
