Good Mid-Morning!

How did you start your morning?  I started mine with a nice glass of ice tea!

I have been busy at work and getting ready for my long up coming weekend . . . 6 days off!!!

QOTD - Do you have any traditions that you do over the July 4th Holiday? . . I know this is a big family reunion weekend for some.

We always have a family BBQ but this year my brother and dad will be up in the UP so it's a girls BBQ so it should be fun.

Hope you enjoy the day!

Kristy

Hello all !

I started my morning with the strong black coffee that is my norm!

Cottage cheese for breakfast and then strawberries for break (mmmmm, last ones I have in the fridge, love 'em)

QOTD - No traditions here, we have absolutely no plans for the weekend.  We are looking for a motorcycle run.  Trying to see if there are any around here for us to go on this weekend.  If not we will probably take a ride somewhere and enjoy ourselves.  Last weekend we did a poker run with the local ABATE group, had a great time and I won the poker hand !  I had a full house of queens over kings, got the last two cards on the last stop and beat my husband with his flush.  I loved it, also received a gift certificate for a local restaurant, so overall we came out money ahead, loved it !

I won't go into my day since it's after 10 PM!

Q:  We always have a big party, this year it's on the 2nd since my hubby is volunteering to help set up Holly's 4th of July fireworks display.  Did I tell you my hubby's hobby is fireworks, so we have a BIG display every year, shhhhh.

Yes Edie, even though the day is almost gone, I decided to post also... because my day was so exciting I wanted to share it....

I had gum surgery this morning, bright and early at 9:15.  So, my day has consisted of protein drinks and sugar free pudding with bananas.  Yes, I'm hungry.

This is my first experience with dental pain and not being able to take ibuprofen.  Tylenol doesn't work all that well for me, but I guess that's all we can have.  Also, I am taking a prescription for amoxicillin.  I hope that is not on the bad medication list for RNY'ers.

Friday night we are going to Hazel Park Raceway.  They are having fireworks that night.  We have done that for several years now and it's fun for something different.

I hope everyone had a nice day and that you are enjoying this weather.

Sandi,

I hope your pain is better today.

Regarding Advil/NSAID's,  I was an avid NO NO girl until I had this pain in my sinus/forehead area that lasted well over 8 weeks.  On a scale of 1/10 w/ Tylenol it was a 15, with Lortab it would go to an 8 for an hour or so, but that was it, not kidding.  So about the 2nd week into it I started taking Advil, I had to function and work, and it was nearly impossible with Tylenol.  At my highest intake I was taking up to 10 Advil a day and took that amount for well over 5 weeks.  I was and have always been diligent with my Prilosec since my surgery date and I didn't have any problems.  I'm not advocating what I did, but wanted to tell you that 1 day of Advil prob. won't kill you.

JMO,

Edie

BTW, Kristy.  I have been living on your vanilla caramel protein tea drink.  I really like it!
