Hi All,
Just curious what everyones portion sizes are once you can eat regular foods.  For example is a sandwich too much, a chicken breast too big , how about a slice of pizza(not my first choice I promise LOL).  Thanks guys!

I usually do not do bread, we don't get along to well.  If I do, it is usually rye grilled or toasted. I can eat half a sandwich with only one piece of the bread.  Chicken I can eat 3 oz and pizza I can eat a couple of bites.

I haven't had a sandwich yet - too much bread.  I can eat something in a whole-wheat wrap, probably about half of the wrap, or a full wrap from Wendy's or McDonald's.  I haven't tried pizza yet - I don't think I will for a long time.  There is no way I could eat a whole chicken breast, but probably just less than 3 oz at this time.  I can eat about one-third of a regular hamburger patty.

I agree with the others.  I am 15 months out and I don't think I could eat a whole sandwich.  I've only eaten bread a couple of times but I do wraps.  Pizza, I ususally pick of the toppings but have had the crust and could not eat a whole slice.  Chicken, about half a breast - maybe 3 oz or so.  Now Wendy's chilli - I can eat a large chili no problem.  Yogurt, I can mix a carbmaster yogurt with a sliced up banana and add 1/4 cup of fiber one cereal which ends up being a huge bowl and I can eat the whole thing.  Slider foods you will be able to eat bigger quantities.  Dense protien and bready stuff, not so much.

I can't do sandwiches or pizza either and chicken is usually too dry, but I can do more than I should of "slider" foods and crunchy things, which of course are laden with fat and calories.

Good morning!

I'm 2.5 years out -- so my portion sizes are much different than someone newer than me, obviously.  Once you start eating regular foods you'll be doing about 4oz to 6oz at a meal depending on what kind of food it is.  For me, I can easily do 8oz to 12oz at a meal.

Yes, I can eat a sandwich.

A typical pizza looks mor like this (tortilla pizza)

If I actually cook and make a "square" meal, it might look like this --- 4oz turkey mignon, bean salad and veggies

I can eat a whole sandwich, on an Arnold thin or on regular bread (although i can't eat anything else and on regular bread I subsequently go into a carb coma...I've eaten approximately seven sandwiches since surgery 2.5 years ago).

I agree with what everyone has said so far.  Slider foods are easy peasy, but  I have to be careful to not eat more that I should.....just because it fits doesn't mean I should eat more!  As for sandwiches; regular bread nope, not gonna happen, however Arnold thins are great and actually let me eat a sandwich.

As for pizza, I eat it about once every 2 to 3 weeks, I have thin crust BBQ chicken....yummy, I can usually eat 2 to 3 pieces depending on the size of the pizza.  If you've never eaten thin crust give it a try I used to hate thin crust, but now LOVE it!
