Hello everyone!
Happy Memorial Day! What's waking your sleepy head up this morning? Black and decaf for me.
QOTD-Who do you want to honor this Memorial Day? Who's the Veteran or serviceperson in your life? I want to honor my Dad, who served after WW2. My husband, who was a Marine. I also salute my son, who is active in the Air Force right now.
Bless all those who served or who are serving right now...

Good Morning Michigan
I am drinking a pop.  I  know  bad   but I  am on a mini vacation,  I'll be good in a few hrs when we get home.
I honor my dad  who couldn't serve in the service because of deafness but did his duty on the home front with long hrs in a factory making war supplies and also the volunteer stuff like collecting tires and whatever was needed and doing all he could to help families who had men serving.  I think men like my daddy did their share for patriotism, My stepdad served in the Navy,  hubby who just retired after 37 yrs,  My brother  air force,   a foster son who did his duty in Iraq.
all who have served or do serve thank you.

 Jo -

I think your dad is every bit as much a Veteran as someone who served overseas during the war. Just because he couldn't serve on the battlefield in combat, doesn't mean he wasn't serving in the country in support of the combat effort. The sacrifices he made at home are every bit as important as the sacrifices others made.

Good morning Michigan,
Unfortunately it is the end of the working day for me so I am drinking my last SF Apple drink mix from Walmart f the day.

QOTD: As noted above it is a working day for me so I have to wait a few days to pay my respect to those ho have passed on and those who served our country. Since five generations of men in my family have all served this country in time of war, I have plenty of people to thank in just my family, (not to mention the enemies of the US during wars who were bad enough shots to allow my existence). I will, however, spend much of the day thinking of our men and women in harms way, and pray for their safety and well being. I will also pray for those who paid the ultimate price for the freedoms we so enjoy.  Freedom is never fully paid for and the price is great, and painful , though necessary. I will also pray for all those in harms way, including our enemies; though I am sure there are many who will not agree with this and, I know that there are others who will not accept this. No man can walk amongst his fellow man, as a Christian, and not only forgive his enemies but also pray for their soles.

Deb,
Unless your husband is no longer with us, in which case i  apologize for adding this, there are no former Marines. Unlike the other services, once a Marine always a Marine. The only exception is if one is dishonorably discharged from the Corp. So if you refer to a Marine as having 'been a Marine', 'was a Marine' or as a 'former Marine', it is quite an insult to a Marine. Even in passing, a Marine is a Marine.

Good morning

Ok... what's up with the neighbor's dog. Second day in a row that he woke me up. Driving me nuts!!

Having a mug of protein coffee this morning and just settling in for a few hours of school work.  I've got a list of errands to run later and gotta run to Mom's to get her GoWear Fit set up on her computer. She wore it over the weekend working the charity yard sale thing and Friday burned 3600 calories (which is more than I burned on my highest ever day walking the Crim 10 mile race last summer)!!  Amazing.

QOTD -- I want to honor my grandfather this Memorial Day. He died last April and I miss him so.  It was strange not having him at the charity thing this weekend -- whenever I'm at the VFW, he's just always there too, so it was odd to not see him milling around with the other Vets. He was a great American and taught me how to have a deep respect for our country, the flag and other servicemen.

Good Morning All,

I have to work this evening but I am hoping to grill out lunch for me and the boys.  I almost had today off but my boss changed her mind at the last second.  Drat.  I have the next two days off so I can't complain that much.

QOTD:  Currently I have a niece and nephew serving.  She is a nurse and he flies Black Hawks.  Our family is full Military people.  DH was Navy (I love a man in Uniform).  Dad and sil, bil's,uncles, were Army, my fil is also Navy.  I am grateful to all those who have served and I pray for them and their families.  So many do not come home the same after war.

Nick, I don't think it is wrong to pray for our enemies.  They are people just like us defending their country and their way of life.  I will say that my prayers for our service men and women is different than my prayers for our enemies.
