Hi! I'm back and I should have never left but it has been hectic.  Surgery was 12/01/09 at Hurley!  Two weeks later I was readmitted with infection in one of the incisions and had to be opened back up, then was sent home to pack woung and heal....Since then have not gotten into an exercise routine which I know would only help the weight loss but seem so tired after the work day.  I am 5 and 1/2 months out and have lost 74 pounds.  I feel like I am behind in the weight loss.  For the last month, I have noticed  I am getting hungry often and feel like I am able to eat too much.  For example last night for dinner I had a chicken breast and 3/4 of wheat rice and was able to fini****  Is this how ya'll felt this far out.  Some days i eat more thasn others.  Also I have found I can pretty much eat anything no dumping syndrome.  Milk does give me a problem and going to try silk.  My hair is falling out at a fast rate.  At 3 months, my vitamin a and d were low but increased both.  How do you think I am doing?  Am i feeling or experiencing what you have?  Opinions welcome.  Thanks Teddi

I am just 6 months out .
your are  doing very well on the weight loss part. I expected  it to be more for myself too. but most everyone is saying that our rate is good. and At least your losing were you on the down side prior to surgery? I dropped 40 to 50 lbs before surgery and my loss is now slow because I lost so much prior to surgery.

sorry to hear you had such a rough time after your surgery. glad your better now.  Sounds like you need to add some biotin to your supplements. that helps with hair loss.  You will notice slight changes in the amount you eat. they say at 6 months your pouch expands a little. I too have big food day when I can eat more that others. and that happens at different times during the day too.

just keep drinking your water and eating your protein. take your vitamins and try to walk some until you feel more like doing challenging exercise.

and don't be shy around the board. this group is so supportive. check out the daily cyber coffee chats. usually with a title that has the day of the week in them.

good luck Keep up the good work.

Hi Mary,

Thanks for replying!  I check on you often since we are so close with the date of surgery.  You have done wonderful.  Your weight loss is outstanding.  I lost about 17 pre surgery.  I started at 305 and currently am 231.5.  Just curious if how i am feeling is normal.  Scared the boo boos I've made have damaged my pouch.  I no longer get that full feeling high up anymore (by breast bone).  When I get full now it is further down.  I snack sometimes (popcorn).  Hard not to drink with meal and have done ultimate bad thing and that is have a diet soda in morning, since i am not a coffee drinker.  Still losing but do not want to sabatoge the conitnued loss.  I will try to participate more.  Thanks Mary!

You've lost more than me so don't feel bad in that department.  I'm 5 months out and have lost 66 lbs.

Keep plugging away at it...stick to the rules as best you can.  I feel the same way about eating.  Some days are better than others and sometimes I can eat more than other times.
