I'm in!!

I have been fighting with my PCP's office for a month. She is a McClaren doctor and they wanted to have me go through them.  I called and they don't even do Sleeves. So, back to trying to get everything set up for Hurley. Well, I decided to set up my psych test because I was feeling optimistic and the good vibes must have been working, because five minutes after setting up that appointment, Hurley called!!!  I finally had my referral go through!!! I have my first appointment on June 1st (and my psych appt on June 7th!) So if anyone has good advise or insight about Hurley, I would appreciate it!  My Dr will be Dr. Kralovich!!

I went through Hurley and thought the whole process was smooth as silk.  They were great in making sure that I had everything in line and go through all my testing and it all seemed to go so very quickly without any issues.  I guess some of it will all depend on how your insurance handles it all too.  Best of luck on your process and hoping to see you on the losers bench real soon!!!!

I'm sitting at Hurley Medical Center right now in my daughter's room who just had RNY surgery yesterday.  I had my surgery a year ago in March.  We both have Dr. Kralovich as our surgeon.  He is great and I have been very happy with Hurley,  If everything goes smoothly with my son's approval he will also be having surgery with Dr. Kralovich in December!

Thank you both!  I'm really excited to get things started and everything I have heard about Hurley has been good!  I can't wait to get the ball rolling!!

Good for you for pushing forward and being persistent about what YOU wanted, not was they OFFERED!

I had my original RNY at Hurley in 2001.  At that time  they put you in the burn unit and you received a ton of care.  I have nothing bad to say about them.  As a matter of fact, even with all the other hospitals in the area me and my family will only go to Hurley when we need a hospital.  Every time I have had to use them we got great service.  The couple of times I chose to go to another surrounding hospital I regretted it and in one case I had them ambulance me over to Hurley....  You're in good hands.
