Had VSG on Tuesday, according to everyone I did well!  Yay.

It was like old home week in the Pre-op.  One nurse grew up down the road from where we live now.  She knew several people that I know from school when my daughter was attending.  Then the kicker, the head OR nurse was our former neighbor, lived right next door for a loong time!

They kept giving me meds for nausea, that made me vomit!!  Go figure, once they changed that med I did  much better.  I've never been so nauseauous, even with morning sickness!!

Wednesday was a bad day, very sore and tired.  Thursday was much better and I came home in the late morning.

Started the Phase III liquid diet on Friday.  Made it to 38 gr of protein, and had about 24 oz of liquids.  I'm sure it will get better as I go along.

I'm making a list today of ways to get more protein in the little amount that I can eat.  And heading out to find some protein water or powders for clear liquids.  I'm really tiring of these protein shakes.

I made up some Cream of wheat this morning, added protein powder to FF milk to thin it, it was actually pretty tasty.

Any suggestions or ideas for the beginning phases would be helpful.

Thanks all for your support during my pre-op journey.

On to the losers bench!!!!  YEAH!!

Welcome to the losers bench.  Not sure how vsg works right after surgery but I know for me everything was slow going, water, protein.  My favroite thing right after surgery was hummas, cottage cheese, egg salad and carbmaster yoget.

Thanks Cheryl, I totally forgot about hummas.  I'm still on full liquid for another 10 days, but I'm exploring all of the avenues of adding protein.
