Frustrating....

So i had a follow-up w/ my surgeon at 2 weeks and then 3 months and since that appt. he said I was doing so well he doesnt wanna see me until 12 months post-op which is November!! I feel like Im being cheated out of being checked on and feel like my post-op follow-ups are not there! The surgeon I work with sees you at 1 wk, 2 weeks, 3, 6, 9, and 12 months and anytime in between you need him. I know my surgeon was nice and all but I think he should be a little more agressive in his follow-up care. I mean I only seen the dietician last when I was 2 weeks out, I think there are some kinks in the program that need to be worked out  =(   How do you feel your post-op care is going?!?!  I think he also brushes it off because he knows Im a nurse who works with another bariatric surgeon at times in the hospital I  work at, but i dont feel thats an excuse ya' know.....

I had the same doctor and he did the same with me . . he told me if I need anything just to see my PCP or go to emergency room. . . I felt the same way you did like I was being cheated. . . I wish I would have told him that I didn't want to miss my visits.

I really like him to  . . actually the whole staff was great . . but I felt like I was being singled out because I was ahead of schedule. .  hind site is always 20/20 . . I should have spoken up at the time and didn't . .

Call them back and tell the nurse you want your follow-up visits . .

i went for my 3 month  and they did the same thing i dont see him till next jan

Hi ya'll... Your doctor is not the only one that has done this.....I had my surgery almost 8 yrs ago and I saw Dr. Wood once after the surgery for follow up. I had a hernia that he said wasn't a hernia and my PCP sent me to ageneral surgeon for repair. It looked like I had an alien growing from my surgical area.  I saw the nutritionist about 3 yrs later because I have become hypoglycemic.... would be sunk.
