Need OB-GYN Recommendations Canton Area

I rarely go to the doctor mainly because I'm embarrassed about my weight. Since I'm fairly healthy I usually only go to an OB-GYN once every two years for a general gyncological visist and I've rarely gone to the same doctor twice because I've moved about 7 times in the last 10 years.  I'm getting older and I know that I need to take better care of myself and not take my health for granted. So I'm looking for an OB-GYN and would like someone who is "fat-friendly*" and preferrably has worked with patients who have had WLS. Any recommendations? I would live in Canton and work in Farmington Hills so I would like someone in that area.

*BTW, fat friendly to me means that neither the doctor or their staff  will make me feel uncomfortable about my weight and will talk to me about my weight and related health issues in a sensitive and compassoniate manner like they would any other health issue. I undertand that obesity is a health problem and should not be ignored. I just don't want to feel like an outcast or loser because I'm obese.

I see the docs at U of M OB/GYN in Canton.

Dr. O'Broin is really cool. He is a fitness buff, so if you want to talk supplements, etc. he will. But, he doesn't bug me about being overweight at all.

I have also seen Dr. Zander there, if you would prefer a female doctor.  In fact, I had an incision that got infected, right in my big fat muffin top. Dr. Zander was so careful how she talked about it....saying that because of the position I should have someone help me pack the incision. She never said "Hey, muffin top, you are too big to do this yourself" LOL.

Even though I'm post op, I'm still way over 200 lbs. and neither doctor has ever said anything about my weight unless I brought it up. They were both curious about my WLS experience, but weren't intrusive about it, and I was the one that offered up the info.

This is tacky to say, but it might make you feel better. There are quite a few MAs in the office that take your weight and vitals, and they are not thin, if you know what I mean.  So no weird looks when you hop off the scale.  They also have the big blood pressure cuff.  That's always a pet peeve of mine, when they go to take my pressure and then say "I have to go find the big cuff".  How embarrassing!  But at this office, they just automatically have it there and it isn't an issue.

Thanks for the recommendation. I'm going to check out their website.
