Will I be okay tomorrow?

I'm being scoped tomorrow at 11:00. I have plans for the evening...should I cancel, or will I be okay?
The good news is that I'm hoping this will fix my stricture. I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy.

If they are using conscious sedation, then plan on being a little out of it for a few hours after.  Your throat might be a little scratchy, but that only lasted about an hour for me.  It felt a lot better when I drank a sugar free slurpee.

I think I went out to dinner the night that I had mine, and felt ok.  I would keep your plans if it isn't anything too strenuous.  They also told me I couldn't drive for 24 hours because of the anesthesia.

Okay, I didn't thing about the sedation. I was more concerned about the sensation after the procedure. Did you feel a lot better after your scope?

I didn't have the scope for a stricture, so I'm not sure how you're going to feel...sorry, didn't think about that.

After wards, I felt a kind of "scratchy" feeling in my pouch.  It's hard to describe, like I could tell "something" had happened in there, but it wasn't painful.

Yes you will. Tomorrow you will be much better and the next day you will only have a memory of it. I went through this twice and the scoping fixed it both times. Some of us have stubborn tissues that insist on trying to close out new Stomas. In time it will heal up fine and never close again. For most people it never closes again after the first and only scoping.

yes , you'll have an IV, they will give you a little versed, they will put you out and you wont feel a thing. after you may have a tiny bit of a sore throat but not likely. Mostly you will be a bit groggy for a day and tomarrow youll feel great. Its a pretty easy proceedure. Don't worry my friend you'll be fine.

I have had many scopes(over 8) and it really depends what they do during the scope- If they need to dialate, you might feel better and not so "pucky" :if they try to scar over an opening that is too wide, you might have a slight reaction to the medication they inject and be a little pucky. It also depends on how you handle the actual versad/sedation portion. I have been known to go home and sleep a few hours(one time I got up and actually jogged quite a distance- not that I remembered it later) My throat was scratchy so, soups, yogurts, cottage cheese, soft things best for a day or two. Good luck.
