I learned how to knit a couple years ago -- it was one of my New Year's resolutions.  I learned by watching videos on YouTube.  But I need to get better!  So a get together with an expert knitter is a great idea!

So if we can find a teacher, I'm in!

Hey Pam, there is a Tuesday night Knit Night in Merrill, Michigan at Twisted Warp and Skein.  Starts at 5pm and goes until we close the shop, usually around 9.  Pizza next door for 75 cents for two huge slices.  There are acouple of us there who have had various WLS, I had DS, one friend had sleeve, another had RNY.  Nice group of knitters, usually something to eat.  Come join us!

Hey, I've been wanting to learn how to knit/crochet, too.  My Grandma did both and always made beautiful things.  I have always been sad that I never got to learn (beyond the point of just learning the bare minimum) from her.  So, I would be interested.

I know some basic crocheting stitches, but I want to make round things and I cant get the hang of it.  I am in for a class too.  Are we doing both knitting and crocheting? Or just one?

Do you guys remember Mel and Jay from the board?
I used to be friends with Mel on Facebook, and she joined a knitting group that meets in Royal Oak, I believe.
I will look back over some of my old stuff and see if I can find contact info for her.

Hey everyone,

I called a few stores and it turns out Joann Fabrics, 44740 Ford Rd. in Canton has 50% off their classes on knitting and crocheting right now.  We need to call tomorrow and ask for FRAN because she is the education coordinator and will have more details with dates and times and prices, etc.

We each may have to call to find out the best time and then narrow it down if we can.  Or maybe we can do smaller groups whose time allows it.  The store number is 734-459-3441.

I hope we an get this group going, I am excited!

I would prefer Royal Oak over Canton.  I honestly don't know how often I would attend if it were in Canton.  That's a good hour drive for me.
