Thursday Toast
Good morning Brenda and everyone!
I forgot it was 'take your child to work day' until I saw a bunch of young girls helping our OP. I used to always bring my kids to work with me and had them do filing, highlighting, etc. They think that's all I do all day long :-)
QOTD: Well for me of course it is Steve and our kids. Being with him is exactly what I had dreamed my life would be like when I was a young girl. We really don't argue or disagree on anything but really just enjoy hanging out together. We are so fortunate that all five of our kids get along so well and are friends because I know that can be an issue with blended families. I also really like that my family (my parents and five sibblings) are all very close and we are always there for each other. All the inlaws in the family are a lot closer with our family than with their own.
And I totally agree Brenda that I love having all you guys on OH and even though we have never met I feel so comfortable talking with all of you. When I met Edie and Dave last weekend with Steve it was like meeting someone I had known my whole life.
Have a great day everyone!

It has been awhile since I have been here. I am sorry just alot going on in like lately and this is always the last place I think of when I get on the computer.
Things are going well for us..Just sitting back right now and organizing some pictures so I can scrapbook this weekend with some friends. I am looking forward to it and hoping to finish one of the books I was working on.
QOTD: By far it is my hubby and my BFF... I love them both.. My Hubby allows me my little OCD things without judging me and is always there for me... and my BFF well she just gets me!
and all the rest of the Michigan forum.
Just finished my double protein coffee. 2 scoops in one cup. trying to boost my protein counts.
I have been misbehaving lately. kind of board with he whole WLS thing. Is this normal. I don't want my old life back just don't want to think about WLS rules.
Brenda I never meant to sound harsh or mean yesterday, I just don't like when others don't consider the feeling of others that love them when they do careless stuff. I think your a great person and i don't want you to feel down. You have enough in your own life to deal with, and don't need any added drams!
On a lighter note. I finally opened the box of samples you sent. My DH and DS were sitting in the room when I opened. You should have seen the size of their eyes when they saw that plastic baggie, with those little plastic packages of white powder come out. LOL.
When I explained what it was my DS said you should name it " Crease Coke" My DH said he was wondering if I finally PO'd someone so much that they sent me a box of Anthrax, or I was starting a new career. LOL! I will take them to the 5K for the MI OH group to try and then will have the left overs to pass out at the campfire too.
QOTD;
Of course my family is tip priority. One that is very special is my Julie, she has such a great heart and is such a loving child. She is my right had and number one supporter.
( a matter of fact I found out that she was planning a day at the spa for me for Mother's day! They called to confirm the appointment. I told her I knew about it and that she didn't need to spend all that money on me. It cost too much. She is now taking me to get a Mani and pedicure. She said I deserved it after dropping over 100 lbs, and cause I was a great mom. She wanted me to feel appreciated.) Just knowing she wanted to do that was the gift. I don't need anymore.
Then there are you all at OH. If it had not been for your helpful advice and great support, I might have bailed out and jumped ship before the surgery. You guys are like a big hug when ever I need one.
Thank each and everyone of you all.
Speaking of Julie, I meant to throw some samples in the box for her, but I forgot. When I next see you I will remember them (hopefully).
Since my sis is the powder queen, I have the stuff all over! She made some for the carpet in my car, and a special one for Nick's feet because they get so sweaty in his braces. So just about every inch of my house, car, and family is covered in white powder!
Thanks for passing out the samples for me. You mentioning the campfire made me think of something random: When I was a cub scout leader, we would throw sugar into the fire and it would make big, blue flames. The boys thought I was magic for three years, until they figured it out. It's funny that those kids are now driving and in high school.
Ok, this post has rambled on long enough!! :)

Can you tell me about the sugar and the campfire trick. We camp almost every weeke-end during the summer, with DD and SIL and little ones. Can you tell me how to do the sugar in the fire trick. The boys would love to see granny preform a magical trick! Did you put sugar on the wood before you started the fire or after the fire is buring. How much sugar? My girls were in Girl Scouts but don't recall them ever talking about the fire being blue. Now selling cookies I do remember! lol
You was probably the coolest Scout Leader ever!
Thanks
Cheryl
You all have been so helpful to me this past couple of years too, and I appreciate and depend on you more than you know. Ok, enough of that sappiness. :)
Q Well take the above paragraph and insert here....... and my family and friends. The unique thing about me that most of you do no have, is that I (and pray that you don't) had cancer 3.5 years before this (gbs surgery).....my family, friends and co-workers know that I am very careful with my decisions health wise and they only want the best for me. I work with 17 women (pain in the ass women at times) who I KNOW have my best interest at heart along with my family. They all have been unbelievably supportive during the past 6 years and I appreciate it fully. I also appreciate all the friends I've met on my weight loss journey (sorry Brenda, I still consider it a journey), without all the encouragement I've received here I would not be the person I am today.
Thank you,
Edie

Don't worry Edie, I am a day late and even the dollar short....Oh well, I have to say I am rich with friends....like all of you, when I was diagnosed with cancer it was ya'll and the people at work that really helped. My family is really limited here. I even told the surgeons that they better have an extra large operating room reserved because it was going to get very crowded. I was brining everyone with me.....
The people that I treasure the most though I have to say are my grandbabies...it can be the worse day in the world and all it takes is one of them to wrap their arms around me and look back and smile and I just melt all over.....
A girl from one of my Yahoo groups just got news that she may have Inflammatory Breast Cancer and she's freaking out that the survival rate for my kind of breast cancer is only 40-50% in 5 years, unlike 'normal' breast cancer that is 97%. I've given her my e-mail addy, hopefully she responds so I can try to help her.
Remember, if you ever need to talk, I'm here.
