Where to start, where to start?
My oldest daughter started acting out when she was 12. She was sneaking out of the house meeting older boys. By the time she was 16 she left home hooked up with a registered sex-offender. They had a baby, never took care of him. My dh and I took custody of him when he was 5 months, and adopted him when he was 2 1/2. He is now classified as EMI (emotionally, mentally impaired). His birth father is in prison for another 2 years.Just yesterday I received my annual letter from the parole board. I write a letter every year, to keep him there. He has threatened to kill me and my dh several times. When he gets out I do expect a visit and with out dh I am scared. My daughter has two girls now from a different guy. They are divorced now(good thing). She has had them taken away for about a year. She got them back but is still a bad mom. If I had room I would take the girls. Has she gotten better than what she was? a little. There is never any real food in the house, dinner is always take out pizza. That's her favorite thing. Tax money is not spent buying food or new clothes , it is for big screen and x-box and wii. Selfish should have been her first name. Yet I love her, and I do what I can for my grand babies. You can not live their lives. You have to take responsibility for yourself. You can not be anybodies keeper. Just love and support them and try to point them in the right direction.

Cheryl,
I'm so sorry your dealing with this. Hopefully things will turn around for your daughter.
As far as your safety you might look into having a concealed pistol license (I know controversial), when you take the classes they teach you how to use a gun and feel comfortable owning one.

Good evening to all!
Q - As much as I love him my son lets me down all of the time. He also went to jail for a few months last summer. While he still has his problems, jail did teach him to be a little more responsible and a little more adult. It was the best I could hope for. I hope you will feel better after you've had some time to think about it.
