Good Morning everyone!
Surprised that it is this late and I'm doing the coffee post! What's filling your cup this morning? Getting ready for black and decaf for me. Sean, my eldest son is here from Alabama and is getting ready to leave later this afternoon. Was a really nice, short visit with him. Miss him, but he loves what he is doing in the Air Force. He may be going to Germany for a few month.
Hope you've had a good week!
QOTD-Weekend plans? Busy for me as I am going to Chicago on Sunday for a week long training. So, will be getting everything ready for that... Hope it warms up a little more for a Saturday bike ride...
Take it easy everyone!

Hi Deb,
I lived in Germany for 2 years a looooong time ago.  It's pretty cool there.  A long plane ride, though.

I'm on my way to work and kind of glad that this Spring Break week is almost over.  I'll have my youngest back home and my schedule will be back to normal.

IT'S TIGERS OPENING DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

QOTD-I'm meeting some WLS buddies for lunch on Saturday and a friend I met on Yelp.com on Sunday.  What an internet geek I am!  LOL

Hope you all have a great day!

Good morning all!

So glad it's Friday. Hopefully things will be quiet here at the office today so I can get caught up on a couple things.  Enjoying my fake latte, as usual, this morning.  After 2 weeks of eating leftovers and staples from the pantry, tonight I need to stop and get some groceries.

QOTD -- the new semester started this week ... which means my Saturday classes begin tomorrow.  Definitely not thrilled about giving up every Saturday, but I had no other choice in the matter. No plans for Sunday -- hoping for some down time and wishing for maid service (yeah right!).

Good Chilly Morning !

Drinking my strong black coffee!  Will be glad when the work day is over, yes, I wish away the five days in favor of the last two days of each week !

QOTD: No big plans this weekend, need to get some spring cleanup done in the flowerbeds so we are ready for planting in May.  Sunday we have an ABATE meeting and hoping the weather is nice enough to ride our motorcycles again!

Good morning!  I have had my decaf tea and now am drinking sugar-free Carnation Instant Breakfast with an extra shot of powdered milk for protein.  I started using the FitDay on-line journal this week and it's so cool to see it graph out my nutrition, breaking it down into carbs, fat and protein.  This really helps me monitor my protein intake.

QOTD:  Not much this weekend.  I'm taking my 12-year-old daughter and her best friend to the mall for shopping on Sunday - well, they will be shopping while I go in a different direction, since at 12 it isn't cool to hang out with mom at the mall.    But that's okay - having some time to myself, just walking around and looking at the sales, sounds good.  I'm not going to buy anything for myself since I just had my surgery almost 8 weeks ago and I plan to be a lot smaller when this is all done!

Linda,

FYI....I've heard that the protein in Carnation Instant Breakfast is not a high enough quality protein for us post ops, we don't easily absorb it.  In fact on the Yahoo sites they call it CIB (crap in a box)  This info comes from people many, many, many years out, including Michelle aka Vitalady).  The proteins that we absorb easiest are #1 whey, #2 egg, #3 soy (as far as protein powders), and make sure they are a high quality protein.

Thanks Edie -  I mainly count the protein from the skim milk and the powdered milk that I add.  The CIB just flavors it so that I can easily drink it.  I'm still having problems with protein powders, although I have been making fruit smoothies with unflavored whey protein and I love those.  THanks for the heads-up!!
