Thanks for the warm welcome!  I plan to follow through with the surgery this time, things change and it's time for me.

I really liked Dr Verseman too, and his staff were very pleasant.  I've only been there once.  My last go 'round was with Dr. Sabre when he was in Kalamazoo, and I wasn't comfortable there, that's probably why I backed out, at the last minute there.

My husband went with me for my first consult and Dr. Verseman spent almost 45 minutes with us, answering questions and going over things, he was very helpful and made us both feel at ease.

My consult got moved up rather quickly, my appt was for May 27, but I was put on the cancellation list and they called one friday and had an opening on Monday, so I said, "Cool I'm there".  I had my nutrition consult that Friday and got my psych eval scheduled right away (Thurs, April 1!!)  So instead of my first consult at the end of May I may be up for surgery by then.

Thanks again, I'll be around

I was thinking back to when I was a NEWBIE...almost 8 yrs ago....Have I ever regretted having the surgery...? Heck  No!   I feel so much better...not going to say I always have more energy every day...but at 58 who does.....Would I do it again? In a heartbeat....Would I tell you to do it...NOPE! I will encourage you to do what you feel is right for you because you are the only one that knows....The surgeries are great tools...and yes there are adjustments to be made...but, the benefits far out weigh the issues.... Be kind to yourself...nothing happens over night...be patient...You will get there...We have all been there...

Thank You Kajun, for the words of wisdom.

Are you a "Cajun"  My husband's family is from LA, most of them are still there, all over the surrounding New Orleans area

Thank you for all the wonderful encouragement! I am very excited to get all the tests done and the surgery scheduled. It's pretty much all I think about these days. I'll check in when I get farther down the road to surgery. In the meantime I love reading these boards finding out how everyone is doing and what they are thinking and feeling everyday.

Hi Marcia!

Melissa, you and I have the same surgeon!  I think Dr. Verseman is fantastic!!!

My nutrition therapy is scheduled for April 5, my psych eval for April 8.  We could possibly have surgery around the same time.

I'm very excited about this change in my life!!!

Feel free to friend me.

Take care,
Angie
