Jess -

You might need to boost your calories with the 7 day workout routine.  How many calories are you getting in per day?  How many grams of protein?

Also remember that stomach growling might not automatically equal hunger.  In fact, for most people with RNY, hunger is not the same post-op, no more growling stomach like before.  Nowadays the growling and rumbling is pretty common because of the way digestion has changed inside, so we tend to make more noises than normal.

Morning to all!  I'm drinking decaf tea with nonfat powdered milk and Splenda - I still can't stomach adding protein mixes, but I can handle the powdered milk for a little extra protein.  And I am sooo looking forward to warm and sunny!  This weekend has been so overcast and rainy - yuck.

QOTD:  It's funny how loyal people are to their peanut butter!  I too am a Jif fan - low-fat creamy.  We also like Tropicana orange juice the most.  But usually I just try to get the best price and use my coupons!

Good morning!  Having my coffee and a blueberry bagel.  I'll have to have some protein in a while.  We are still working on our basement.  My DH is slowly working on it.  He doesn't plan for being too tired after work or needing some weekend time to rest.  He is in denial that he's still recovering from a stroke! So, his "I can get this done this weekend" has turned into well over a month.  It didn't help that he worked OT one weekend and then another was spent going to TN to get my mom.  He should be done painting this coming weekend and then we can order carpeting.

QOTD:  We are coffee snobs.  Bigtime.  Starbucks Breakfast Blend. We travel with it and a coffeemaker.  My MIL has a Keurig, but when we are there, we break out the coffeemaker and our SB BB.  As a matter of fact, I bought 12 bags of it yesterday.  It's on sale at Meijer's.  One time it was on sale at Meijer's and I bought 30 bags of it.  LOL!  Yeah...excessive, but we're going to drink it whether it's on sale or not, so I figure I may as well buy as much as I can when it's on sale!  I have my brother and sister hooked on it, too.  Everyone always wants coffee when they come to our house.   OH, and I ONLY eat Jif Creamy peanut butter!
I'm picky with food brands.  Most of it's in my head, but I just can't stand the way some off brands taste, etc.

Ok Tina, now you have me curious to try SB BB coffee!!!!  I did buy starbucks once - those instant single packs (can't remember the name right now - it starts with a V - LOL)  Anyways, I loved them.  I was never  a coffee drinker before surgery.  The only time I drank coffe was when I was pregnant with my daughter and it became a craving for me.  Otherwise, I was not a coffee drinker.  Now, it's like my new addiction!  I am going to have to go get me some Starbucks BB!!

Ya know, I didn't start drinking coffee until after surgery, too.  About a year after.  Before, coffee just never held that much interest for me and when I did drink it, I would load it with sugar and cream, so it ceased to be coffee.

Then my hubby got some SB BB in one of those Christmas coffee gift things.  We were hooked.  However, I should clarify that we don't brew it according to THEIR instructions.  We brew it to our tastes.  Also, I NEVER buy regular coffee at a Starbucks because I don't like the way it tastes when THEY brew it.  They recommend like 2 tablespoons per 6 oz of water!  WAY TOO STRONG for me.  So we have a scoop (don't remember it's quantity) but we do 1 scoop for every cup we brew.  The breakfast blend is their mild blend.  Some of their medium blends are good, too.  I haven't tried too many of the BOLD blends, though.

I do want to try the Via (SB singles).  I've heard from some who have tried it that it's really good, too.

Good Morning!

I am feeling especially blessed this morning that my daughter was running late in Moscow and took a cab instead of the subway . . in case you haven't heard there were two bombings in the Moscow subway this morning.  The first on was two blocks from her apartment, I talked to her on Skye and saw her on the web cam so I know she is fine.  It is funny how you know when your children are in harms way . . I was restless all night and had been up since 330 am. . .

Started my day with protein hot chocolate this morning.
I am working a double shift today and have packed all my food for three meals  . I looked like a bag lady coming into work this morning.

QOTD- I am a real snob about peanut butter also .  Jif reduced fat only and I only buy Tropicana orange juice . . not matter the cost.  . .  funny how most of us feel the same way about peanut butter. . .lol

Enjoy your day!

Glad to hear your daughter is ok!  I saw that on the news this AM.

Don't you just LOVE Skype?  I talk to my niece in Poland that way and my inlaws Skype us everyday to see Dub (if I don't go to their house that day).

I don't know exactly why the peanut butter thing is so prevalent for me, but I have an idea.  When I was a kid, my mom was BIG into natural foods (she was ahead of her time!).  We were only allowed to eat NATURAL peanut butter...ya know the kind where the oil separates and sits on top and you have to stir it?  So, I just remember having JIF at my best friend's house (she got all the good treats!)  and thinking it was SO much better than the natural stuff.  LOL!  That's what I like....AND ONLY CREAMY!  I have food texture issues, as well.

WOW
This must have been so scary. I am so happy she is alright and not in harms way.
Thank God for that!

Mary
