Is it really happening?
Hi gang -
so I went to the seminar at Sparrow Weight Management recently and when they viewed the info I had brought they said..."looks good, you're all set!" and scheduled my first appointment. I figured they must be very confident that my insurance will cover me. Has anyone ever been told that they had everything they needed and then got a "no" from insurance? I'm afraid to plan on surgery and then get a denial letter.
Also, can you tell me what the body gem and body composition testing involve?
Thanks :)

What insurance do you have? I don't know much about Sparrow Weight Loss because I am going through the Ingham Regional program with Dr. Mindy Lane and Dr. Melissa Richardson in Lansing. What I do know is I did all my pre op testing, all my education classes, paid all my fee's before I knew if i was approved or not insurance requires you do submit all the testing results during the decision. Not sure what body gem and body composition testing is. I've been through all my testing and am starting liquids tomorrow surgery on the 12th.
You'll hear from others here that all insurance co's have glitches and detours along the way. Some people get approved right away, some don't even with more info., diet, psych eval, pre op testing..... Each ins. co is different and even within the same company you may get 7 different experiences.
Don't freak out either way, if you get approved right off, yea!!! If you don't, don't get discouraged, stick with it, you'll get there.
Good luck,
Edie
