Good Morning Michiganders and any one else who checks in

Up early needed to do some on line banking and stuff.
Having some protein drink and a protein breakfast bar.
What's in Your cup?

QOTD:
We are counting our WLS blessings today.
Besides the OH MI support forum. What are some of your favorite things regarding WLS?
If your Pre-Operative Then write what will feel like a blessing to you after you get WLS!

I think mine would be knowing that the surgery has helped me to become more accountable and I stay focused on my plan. Before I would do really well on a diet then as soon as somebody said wow you have lost some weight. I would head right to the food supply and reward myself and fall off the wagon so to speak not being able to get back on. So WLS keep me on task.

Morning Mary and everyone!
No students today and doing a slow start to the day......
No cup yet, but getting ready to brew decaf coffee-hot and black..
QOTD-My favorite things after WLS is the ability to wear normal size clothes. I love the ability to exercise and keep up with everyone else. I love having such a better outlook for my future-like being able to play with my grandbaby as he grows....
Have a good one!

Good Morning Mary; not up as early as I should have been.  Usually swim on Friday mornings but we had snow again last night and I just couldn't get my *** out of bed.   Decaf iced tea in my cup this morning.

QOTD:
I am pre-op, surgery scheduled for May 4th. and the I believe my blessings will include.
Less pressure on my lungs, so I will breathe better.
Able to run around with my grandchildren.
Able to look in a mirror and see success instead of failure.
We must let go of what was if we are going to embrace what is !

Good Morning Mary and all to follow.

I am hoping today is going to be a good day.  My daughter was denied by insurance on March 9th for WLS.  We faxed in all the paperwork for her appeal on March 12th. we have been on pins and needles and in tears waiting for a decision.  She has called the insurance members services several times, as have I.  We get the standard 'we legally have 30 days' answer.  Well yesterday when she called, the lady said 'your file was looked at today'.  so to me, that means a decision has been made.  I am praying that we get a phone call today saying she has been approved.  Please say a prayer for my daughter to be able to have the chance at this surgery - she deserves it so much!!  Hopefully later iin the day I will be posing saying 'she's approved' !!  I just have this feeling we are going to hear something today one eay or the other.  I don't think either one of us can take another weekend of waiting!!

QOTD:  For me, it's being able to wear normal sized clothes.  I rmember when I wore size 24 pants, I would buy whatever I could find that fit me.  Now I shop and can buy what I like because I have more choices.  I do't just settle for what fits.  I love the fact also that I can exercise and do everyday things like go up and down stairs or work out in the yard without feeling winded and out of breath.  It's just nice to be able to move easier!

Have a great day everyone!

Hi Nan...I was wondering what was up with your daughter's appeal.  I was denied March 9, TOO!  They didn't like one of documents they received - so the coordinator faxed EVERYTHING back over with a new document to please them THE VERY SAME DAY.  I had a date of March 31 - but we got the same answer = "30" days.  Ugh.

I will say a prayer that you get GOOD News today.  I have no idea when I'll hear about mine - but I have a new date of April 19.

Hi Suzy!

I willl say a prayer for you that you get some news soon too!!  That is funny because April 19th is the day my daughter wants to have surgery.  She is a student and will be between winter and spring term.  So she has a 2 week window where she needs to schedule the surgery and still be able to start her classes spriing term.

What insurance do you have?  I swear the waiting for insurance approval is the most stressful part of this whole journey.  At least it was for me.  I didn't stress out about the surgery itself (maybe just a little nervous) but for me I was more stressed out about getting approved!

Let's think good thoughts!!!!  I will let you know as soon as I hear anything and you do the same!!

I have Blue Care Network - and the insurance coordinator told me that was one of the easier ones to get approval from (depending on which reviewer gets the case) ...turns out we got a tough reviewer.  That just figures!  You are right - it IS very stressful.  Even though the coordinator has assured me that I will be approved  - I still cannot get excited about my surgery until I hear the words APPROVED.  I am so afraid that something else will not satisfy the reviewer.  Ugh.

Ok - good thoughts.  Positive thoughts.  We will be approved!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good Morning Everyone !

I am up and getting ready to start the real work of the day, need to stick to it and make good progress.  Had a phone call early this morning, my oldest grandson called to see if he and his brother could spend the night (ages 9 & 6) !  Of Course !  They haven't spent the night in ages, they especially want to see the dogs, the have always loved them.  I don't ask for them to come because their mother only has them every other weekend and I know how much she enjoys all her time with them.  It is always fun when they come.

QOTD:  My Favorite things from having wls - My good health, ability to play sports, being able to keep up with my grandkids !  I have so many blessings in both the regular category and the WLS, since that affected my whole life.

Good Morning!

Started out with protein hot chocolate this morning.  Today is my actual Friday .  .  and I am off until next Thursday, I am planning spring cleaning this weekend.

QOTD-I like the confidence that I have, to walk a race, to not feel so self conscious about what people see when they look at me.  But most of all I love the friends that I have found with my support group . . they are all great!  It is great to be able to talk about issues face to face with people *****ally understand what you are going though.

Enjoy your day!
