Congrats Ladies!!

How long did you guys train for the race?

I just had my surgery and I wanted to start training for a 5K in July.  I am walking 1.5 miles now in 20 minutes, but my stomach starts to hurt, so I slow down.

Great job ladies!!

If you're doing 1.5 miles now.... you'll be ready for a 5k well before July. You might want to find something in early June to register for.   You're still early out, so don't push too hard if you're getting stomach pains ... but keep walking and add a little bit more each day. You're at a really good pace right now so you'll be flying when you're fully healed and losing weight.  :-)

When I was 4 months post-op I signed up for my first half marathon (which gave me 8 months to train for it).  So you might want to look several months down the road and see what "big" race you can tackle in the fall.
