Bartleytl...congrat's!!  Your's is real soon too..i bet you're so excited also.  I see you live in Potterville..that's neat..my sister lives there.  Potterville is only about 45 min from my house.  What hospital are you going to have yours at?

wow yes potterville is really small I have lived here all my life. I'm at Ingham Regional I'm going through the two women Doctors Dr. Mindy Lane and Dr. Mellissa Richardson. Isn't Muir just on the other side of Grand Ledge?  I am getting really excited how about you it's been a long road for me.

Talk about small towns...Muir is too! But I love small towns.  My sister lives in an apartment there in Potterville.  If you are leaving Grand Ledge and headed into Potterville..you drive over that hill (that big park is on the right)...then just a few blocks further and the apartments are on the left..just off the main road.  I go there occasionally to visit, plan on going to that park with my son this summer.

Muir is basically just north of Portland by about 15 minutes.  When I go to Potterville I drive into Portland, get on 96..and take Grand Ledge exit..go through Grand Ledge to Potterville.

Thats cool that you have two female doctors!  Is your insurance covering your procedure, or are you self-pay?  I have Blue Care Network (for state of Mi employees)..my husbands work..I'm a stay-at-home mom.  Thankfully our insurance waived the 6mth supervised weightloss program because my BMI is over 50, AND they cover the VSG if your BMI is over 50..so that's what i chose.  The only time in my life I'm thankful to be fatter..LOL

When do you start a preop diet? And what type are you required to do?  I start mine April 2nd, two weeks before surgery.  I was told that I would be able to have foods too, whatever foods they sell in their store (at surgeons office).  I won't know the details of the diet til the 2nd.  I do know I have to pay $250 for the food for the preop and postop.

So excited!!!!!

The brown apartments? If you turned right onto Pearl instead of left and went a block that's where I live I can see the apartments from my front yard. Yup I'm on 2 weeks pre op diet too I start next monday mine is 3 protien shakes a day and 1 optional protien bar. from their store they do have protien pudding available but I thought it tasted terrible so looks like it might be only drinks for me and protien bars. Hopefully i'll lose a good amount on the diet. I'm doing RNY. So we'll be on pre op together! I attended the orientation last May but it took me awhile to come up with the 800 program fee so I started that in end of October the 6 weeks of education, then I did all my pre op testings met with the dr and then they give you a date. My 2 weeks of pre op shakes is 150 I'm a stay at home mom too and a full time student. My insurance is paying for mine I have BCBS Anthem so I had to get pre approval which took 6 weeks unlike other BCBS people who don't have to do pre approval. I just had documentation of prior weight loss attempts I had dr notes from me going in there and discussing weight with them and dieting/ healthy eating etc so that counted for my diet history requirement and I had history of going to the gym. My insurance also waives the diet if your BMI is over 50 mines 46 but I think on their papers they have it 48 since in one of my records it showed I was an inch shorter than I really am on my physical.
