He is wonderful so I've heard. All of the doctor's that I work with will refer patients to him.

Congrats!

Thank you Sara I will definitely check him out. I have to do something about the 20 lbs. of leftover belly that is just not budging.  There is a doctor out of Grand Health Partners where I had my surgery through also.

Dr. David Hing sees patients in Holland once a month.  You would have to have your surgery in Ypsilanti, but the majority of the follow up could be done in Holland.  He works through Barix Clinics and has A LOT of experience with weight loss patients.  He has info on this site.

I used Dr. Mishra.

Do you have insurance?  I looked for a doctor that worked with my insurance and out the hospital I wanted to go to.

I am on the west side of the state and went to Dr Hing in Ypsi.  I had my first appt with him in Holland and I loved him so decided it was worth the drive to Ypsi to have him do my surgery.  A few years ago I had checked out a PS in Kalamazoo, don't remember his name, he may have been really good but he didn't impress me.  I have my 6 week appt tomorrow in Ypsi.  They have tried to have a couple of my appts in Holland but I was unable to go on the days he was there.  My DH doesn't mind driving over to the other side and he was really impressed with Dr Hing.  My DH has a flexible schedule so I try to schedule when I know he can go with me. ( I did have to have my son drive me when I was about 1 1/2 weeks out because I had gotten an infection and needed the dr to look at it, DH couldn't make it that day because he was in class. )  We loved how patient he was and how he thoroughly explained everything.  I am very happy with my results I had the Brachio, Bilateral upper body lift, and the TT (anchor cut).

Did you know there is a plastic surgeon at the Grand Health Partners building???  I don't know much about him and when I asked Dr. Kemmeter he told me he (Dr. Kemmeter) would do a tummy tuck for me.

Hey Bev,
I can only speak for Dr. Kemmeter's patients re tummy tucks.....and that was a year ago when I talked to him about it.    He's so busy with WLS now I can't really say if he still does them or not.....one of my support group members who is also his patient is having a consult with him next week re the TT.

Most all plastic surgery is NOT covered by insurance.  TT may be if you have had issues with sores, etc. under the skin flap - and those have to be documented by your PCP.

Congrats on your weight loss -- you look terrific and I'm sure you are much healthier and happier now.....

Don't you just love the docs at GHP!

My insurance covers a panniculectomy. The majority of plastic surgery is not cover by insurance. Now I've heard Kemmeter say he would do a TT if he had to go in and do a hernia repair but not just a TT.
