Thursday morning Sunshine
Wow. Can't believe it's 11:30 an no one has posted. 'Sup with everyone today? Just hanging out at my son's house with the dog. Will probably go for a walk shortly. The sun is beautiful today. Can't get enough of it these days.
OK, Cetta's two sisters, Grace and I'm not sure, Maryann (that's the only other sister I know)? Come and join in the conversations here rather than lurking. I know you're out there, Cetta told me...
This is an open invitation to everyone out there lurking to come on board and introduce yourselves. We always welcome new members to our forum.
QOTD: What's the one special thing you're most looking forward to this spring? Watching the spring flowers come into bloom and the trees blossom.

Hi! I am new to this. And was wondering if any of you in Michigan, where I also live, have Health Plus for your insurance and have had alot of trouble getting approved for surgery (RNY)? I have been jumping through alot of hoops and am frustrated that I have not been given the referral yet. Any help or suggestions you have would be greatly appreciated!

We've pretty much all had to jump through those hoops in one form or another. Just keep jumping. Has your primary care physician backed you decision for WLS? If Health Plus denies your request for approval, you and your pcp should write appeal letters. I had to do that when I was denied, but I got approved quickly after the appeal process. I don't have Health Plus tho. You need to begin the process with your pcp. Have you been on a doctor approved weight loss plan? A lot of the surgeons require a 6 month dr or medically approved 'diet' before surgery. I had tried several times to lose weight and keep it off, only to fail, and my pcp was aware of this and had it documented.
Just keep Jumpin, and good luck Gayle. Welcome to the Michigan Forum.
