Wow, Bev.  Haven't caught a post from you in quite a while.  I remember you standing outside your bus with a cowboy hat.  Nice new picture.  You look mahvelous girlie!  Congrats on 1 year.

Oh man! That sucks!  It sounds like it's just a matter of providing them with some missing pieces of info and getting back on track.  But it certainly doesn't help the emotional well being of you or your daughter while they jerk you around with denials.  Why do they immediately just jump to "denied" -- why not say they "need more info" before determining approval or denial.  We should give them lessons on how to run things more efficiently, huh?

Keep us posted.

Pam - that's funny I was just telling my co-worker that when I retire I am going to go work for a bariatric surgeon or an insurance company in the approval department so I can do things the right way - lol :-)   You would be great at working in a bariatric facility Pam!

The thing that bugs me is they do have 4 years of weights, clearly all over 265 lbs and a BMI of between 41-43.  I do believe you are right, they immediately jump to 'denied' to see who will fight the fight.  My daughter is at Dr. Williams office right now having her psych eval!

Nan,

So sorry to hear about this set back.  And I hope that's all it is, a set back.  Tell your daughter that we're all rooting for her.

Thanks Edie I appreciate your encouragement!  I am planning on appealing by the end of the week as soon as we receive the denial letter.  My daughter and I were talking today and I said that exact thing to her....it's only a short delay in the process.

I'll keep you posted on the appeal!

Thank you Mary!  Everyone's support means a lot to me.  I've been trying to keep my mind off of waiting for the appeal but I just keep thinking about it.  Each time I read a post like this I just say to myself 'it's all going to work out'.  I hope within a short time I'll be posting a thread saying 'she's approved!'    I just wish the insurance companies didn't put us through this unnecessary stress.
