Hi all - I'm going to have Grand Health Partners in Grand Rapids as my surgery organization. I'm not sure which doctor I will go with though. I'm starting the process. I went to a seminar a few weeks back. Now I am going for my first appointment next week. I am nervous!

Has anyone gone to them? Any feedback good or bad?

Thanks

I have always used the Dr. at MMPC and Spectrum hospital. But never heard bad things about Grand Rapids Drs, they are very up to date on everything.

I just had my surgery on feb 8th with dr baker, they are all wonderful doctors and the staff is very helpful too,  As well as the nurses on the bariatric ward at blogett were great too.  I had a great experience overall.

I go to GHP and Dr. Kemmeter is my surgeon. He's absolutely amazing. I think it's a great practice and have been very impressed by them in every facet.

Hi, I go through GHP also.  I went to the Orientation on January 25th.  So far I've had my Psych. visits done through my insurance company, and I had my appt at GHP where they did my EKG, and went over my medical history.  I am going in for my labs next week.  Waiting on a call from them next week to set up the date to meet with the surgeon and behaviorist (plus nutritionist).

I am having the VSG, and I'm not completely sure yet what doc I'm having.

So far my experience with GHP has been great!

Nice to meet you!

I work in the medical field and do referrals as part of my job.  Professionally and personally I am very happy with GHP.  My hubby and I both have Dr. Kemmeter and are about 10 weeks out now.  There have been fabulous with any questions or concerns we have had.  You are in great hands.  If you have any questions drop me a line.

Congrats on your decision!

GHP had previously been with MMPC, so the program is one in the same, but improved now that the surgeons are out on their own.

I had my DS with Dr. Kemmeter over two years ago, and my profile chronicles my journey (which has been amazing).  Dr. Kemmeter performs the DS laporscopically, and he is the ONLY DS surgeon I would consider in the midwest.  He is very skilled, compassionate, and simply just a nice guy.  All of the surgeons at GHP are skilled, so you would be in good hands with any of them.... but, I insisted on the best!  Also, not all of the surgeons perform the DS, so if that is the WLS you are considering, you'll want to make sure you consult with a surgeon who can give you what you want.

If you are considering the DS, and have any questions about my post-op life, please let me know.  You can also find out more about the DS at:  DSFacts.com, and more about Dr. Kemmeter on Facebook at:  Dr. Kemmeter, Bariatric Surgeon

On Dr. Kemmeter's FB page, he has a lot of useful information to review, and also you will find the clips / information on a patient that is being followed by the local news, as she is soon to have WLS.

Good luck!  While I wi**** was a journey that none of us had to go through, it was the very best gift I ever gave to myself.
