Tuesday Cafe
I am back from Florida to the snowy Southwestern Michigan. Boy was Florida beautiful. This was the first time we have gone to a conference for my DH that we could have golfed in comfort on both of our free days, but alas, it wasn't to be, I can't golf for awhile yet, I was only given permission to walk for now. And walk I did ! I walked around an outlet mall on the one day that my DH was in meetings (yes, of course I bought a few things, couldn't buy much since I have a 5 pound weight limit and didn't want to walk all the way back to the car), I was there about 3 hours, by then I was tired and went back to the hotel. On Sunday when DH wasn't in any meetings we walked around Downtown Disney, enjoyed the nice weather and just did some window shopping. It was so nice ! Then we fly back home to 8 inches of white stuff and DH had to get out the snowblower to clean up the driveway! The dogs were so happy to see us I thought they were going to trample us. It is hard on them when we leave them for any amount of time.
I am getting back on my normal schedule today and had my First cup of Strong Black coffee, next one will be mixed with Chocolate Protein to get me back on track and keep me healthy! Need to get my protein levels back up to aid in my healing. I still have infection going on and am still taking my medication (there were a couple times that we opened the capsules when I didn't have any thing with me to eat the powder in so I swallowed them with water after they were opened up so that it would just dissolve in my tummy boy are they yucky tasting) When I was at the mall I was sitting on a bench and did that and of course spilled some on my pants and was waiting for someone to report me for doing drugs...LOL. Luckily it didn't happen !
Well, I am back at work and gotta get caught up on things. Have a safe day !
After yesterday's extra long commute in the snow I decided to get into the office a bit early to make up for being an hour late yesterday. So just going through email and voicemail and making my to-do list for the day. Enjoying my fake latte.
Classes were cancelled yesterday which made it nice to actually go straight home after work and not feel obligated to do anything. Cleaned the house a bit (my kitchen is sparkling!) and watched the Olympics.
I'm sleeping better this week - still not perfect or back to normal, but at least it's more than 3 hours a night. And the nausea seems to be getting slightly better - it still haunts my mornings, but at least it doesn't last for 4-5 hours anymore. Dr. W. suggested that my potassium might be low and throwing my electrlytes out of whack from the new drugs - so I've been doing a banana a day, not sure it's making a difference but its worth a try.
Have a good day all

Yesterday I played Martha Stewart. I made biscotti(sf), chip dip, chili, dried apples and cut up the meat for tomorrow's chop suey. I even vacuumed and dusted the house. I don't know what came over me, but I was motivated.
Today will be another wonderful day.

This is my first week back to work. I am finding that I still get very tired pretty easy. By the end of the day, I am wiped out! I think this must be due to the low level of nutrients I'm taking in at this pureed-food stage, but I am trying hard to concentrate on protein and fluids. I just want my energy to return!
I hear we're gonna get snow pretty much throughout the week . . a little bit at a time. Can't wait for summer!
I'm at work, freezing my tail off. I was lazy yesterday and got home from the doc and hid under a down sleeping bag all day! The kids had a snow day and were really happy.
I too, think it's funny that people site the heat as a reason to not leave Michigan. Um, duh, that's what air conditioning is for! Plus, the heat doesn't dump stuff all over your sidewalk and roads!
On an interesting note: I saw a new GYN yesterday. He said he doesn't believe that birth control pills contribute any weight gain at all, but has heard of Depo giving people problems. I don't know who to believe any more! This doc is going to be doing my tubaligation on Friday. He is about 17 years old and looks like Hugh Jackman. Yeah, that's not uncomfortable! LOL
Anyway, I hope you all have a great day and stay warm!
You are so funny. I have to find a new GYN too. Mine dropped out of our insurance network. So, if I continue to see her, its $200 out of my pocket or go to someone and pay $15. My GP said he would do it, but he is about 17 and looks like Malcolm from Malcolm in the Middle. Nah, I think I will find someone else.
Looking forward to my order from your sister. Going to do some pampering next week on my trip to Tennessee.

We write our own destiny. We become what we do.
So what is worse....to have a dorky GYN or a hot one? I'm not sure about that one. The thing that kills me is the breast exam. I can have anyone look around my whoo ha all day, but when they start messing with the girls, I get totally embarrassed.
Anyway, I think you'll like the stuff from my sis. All of her products are awesome.
You deserve some pampering time!!
Hi Sally - glad you had a great time! Warm weather is always a "pick me up"...
Boy - do I KNOW about schedules. After being off for a month, I'm back at work and hopefully things will get back to normal. I rearranged my kitchen Sunday and put all my vitamins in the cupboard instead of having them sit on the counter, now I forget to take them because I can't see then... just something else to get used to!
