I had all my pre opt testing today. I think I have realized this is really happening now. I think I have moved into the terrified phase. They scared me with my EKG. They where like have you had a stress  test yet and I was like no and they where like well you might have to... my surgery is two weeks away. Maybe I am making up reasons to scare myself.

Hi..... what is your name?

Don't worry about all these tests.  They are not experts at reading EKGs but if they see one that looks a little off, they will send you to a specialist so they can get their approval.

It's just something else you have to get through if needed.  You can do it!

I was also terrified before my surgery.  I found out when I actually had the surgery, it was not that bad.

My name is Amy. I just came off an extremely stressful weekend so I hope that didn't throw off the test or something. They actually almost canceled my testing because no one told me I needed to pay my half before the surgery date. I ended up making arrangements but it was very last minute like 5:30 last night. I was sobbing most of the weekend. So I wonder if that had anything to do with the testing.

Don't be scared.  Ask Sandi, she was a wreck, and all for nothing.  She found it wasn't half as bad as she was expecting.  It was really a breeze for me.  The first day you're pretty much in la la land and then you go home and sleep alot.  I didn't have pain at all that I remember.  Just a little discomfort.  If you need a stress test I'm sure they'll work you in before your surgery date.  Mine was a bit questionable but I still got the go ahead for surgery, so don't worry.  I'm sure your stressed weekend had a lot to do with it.
Take care Amy, we'll dust off the losers bench for you.

I ended up needing a stress test prior to surgery.  piece of cake.  In the long run it is in your best interest to have it done just to make sure there is no underlying issues.

The couple weeks prior to surgery for both my husband and I was HIGHLY stressful.  Thought I was going to file for divorce at one point because he was being such an ass.  It was just his way of dealing with the stress.

All will be fine.  Remember you have a great support system here.
