Hope everything goes great Linda - how awesome for your surgeon to call!  My surgery's about a month and a half away and I'm like you; nervous and excited.  I think it's true that we can't really prepare ouselves for what is going to happen.  I'm just reading all I can to try and eliminate the surprises along the way.  :)  Good luck to you - keep us posted!

Thanks to everyone for your support, encouragement and advice!  I will remember to sip, sip, sip, walk, walk walk, chew, chew, chew.  Although Mary - I am not sure how I feel about "chewing" my yogurt and jello!  But I will try.   : )

I just got home from my HUGE shopping trip, trying to get my family ready for when I'm recovering.  My husband and I loaded up two carts of food, following my list and preplanned menu for the family.  I feel blessed that we can spend the extra money to make sure everything is taken care of and I don't have to worry.

I got some extra supplies for myself, too.  Some Boost drinks (the glucose control kind), lots of jello and pudding, Propel water, Isopure water, differen****er/drink flavorings with vitamins and stuff.  I have already got my chewable multivitamins (centrum silver), iron, dry vit. D, and calcium citrate.  If I thought I might need it, I got it!!

I also got some magazines to put away for when I am at home after surgery.  And I have saved some of my DVR shows to watch.  I am an obsessive list-maker and preparer, so I feel confidence that I have my bases covered.  I hope!!

Thanks again to everyone.  I love this forum and the friendship of you all.

Yep - sugar-free jello, pudding and popiscles.  And low-sugar apple juice.  And Greek yogurt.  And CarbMaster yogurt.  And sugar-free preserves.  I have been taking notes from everyone's posts, trying to get this "right" from day one!
