I got the news late yesterday.  Needless to say I am very disappointed, but very proud of myself that I didn't turn to food last night to comfort me.

The hired from outside the company, a guy from the Detroit area.  No one knows him or anything about him, so I guess time will tell

Thanks to everyone for their support.

Sorry to hear Pam.  I know it's a big disappointment for you.  Try to think positive somehow.  At least now you don't have to keep doing two jobs.

I hope this guy turns into the boss from heaven for you.  Positive thinking....

((((Hugs to you))))

Thanks Jan

Guess who gets to train him?  ME

Thats what I told my hubby.  I can cut back my hours and turn my cell phone off at night.

Besides that I can get back to the board posting, and back to my support group.

Pam -  you must be disappointed, but congrats for being self-aware and keeping on top of your emotional response and not turning to food for comfort.

I am sorry you didn't get the promotion.

I know this sounds bad but unless they pay you more or give you a raise, It is not your job to teach him anything. After all they hired him cause they thought he was qualified.

I would be mad and hurt.

Take care and best wishes.

Pam,

I'm sorry to hear that, but I'm very proud of you for putting yourself out there and trying.  That's what life's about.

Also kudo's to you for not turning to eating for your comfort.  I've been doing that too much lately... easy trap to fall back into.

Enjoy your quiet weekend.

Pam,
You are awesome, and we all know that.  Screw them!

If I win a million, I can include offing your boss in the budget.  Just let me know!

I'm sorry the promotion didn't work out for you - but you might want to rethink training the new person.  If you train him, you can train him the way you want him to be and the way he should be.

He is why you are getting your life back - and that's way more valuable than any promotion.  No question it's a disappointment, but it's not ALL bad

And I am SO PROUD of you for not eating because something was eating at you.  WAY TO GO!!!!!
