Aren't we glad we don't live on the East coast!

Well, it's afternoon, now.  Coffee is long gone.  I'm eating an enchilada that a friend made and brought over.  It's yummy.  My inlaws just left with Dub so I can get some heavy house cleaning done!  I missed him before they even left!!!!  He'll only be gone a couple hours, but it's hard to be away from him!

QOTD:  I come from a family of gun owners with CCW's.  Hubby and I do not have ours, but do plan on getting them...hopefully this year.  I fully believe in safe, responsible gun ownership.  Way back when, in college, I had to do a huge research paper on gun ownership.  Had to take a stand and defend my arguements.  ALL of my research pointed to LOWER crime rates in countries where gun control was more lax than strict.  The majority of people convicted of gun crimes do not LEGALLY own guns.  So, regardless of gun control, criminals will be able to get guns.  Prohibition is not an effective form of gun control.

If you feel you have the need to own a gun, that's your right and privelege. I, personally, will never own one as long as I have to hug my husband goodbye around a bullet-proof vest every morning.

Gee - I'm sorry I missed this post yesterday!  Was a very busy day.

I too have a CCW, and own 4 pistols.  My .22 is for target shooting, and I have a .32 I carry, a 9mm for protecting the home and .40 caliber glock.

My daughter is a police officer in Novi.  She and I had quite the conversation about when she stops someone and how she treats them if she finds they do have a gun in their vehicle (legally).  While we didn't really come to agreement, I do respect her position on protecting her own safety.  She too wears a vest everyday on her job - but I would rather her be safe than sorry because of the idiots out there that have come into guns illegally.  They're the ones you really have to worry about.

Actually - I bought the glock with her in mind.  She wants a back up gun and this is the one she wanted.  She'll probably buy it from me in the near future.

She and I went shooting while I was down there and had a good time.  Went to a public shooting range and she was able to give me some tips... I don't get out shooting as much as I should...
just to stay proficient.

I obtained my CCW because when I ride my motorcycle, and if I should break down when I'm by myself I want to know I have protection.  I also like to carry it when I travel between TC and downstate... not that I always remember... I think women, in particular, need to be proactive to protect themselves.

I bought mine because I do allot of "girl" weekends and I like to hike back woods near my house and I wanted to be safe.

I think it's funny that cops would not like people getting ccw's..... for one, they know before they approach our vehicle that we may have a gun, and in my opinion, we are more than likely honest people or we wouldn't have gone through all the training necessary to obtain a ccw.  It's the cars they pull over that they don't know about that would worry me!

Exactly!  That's the point I made with her - while she didn't disagree, just anyone with a firearm is potentialy dangerous and they have to treat them like that - and that's the conversation where we didn't agree....  But, yes the ones they don't know about are the ones that worry me too.... I can't let myself stress each day when she goes to work either...
