Anyone a patient at Grand Health Partners in Grand Rapids?

Like I said, this can be a long process. You have to jump through lots of hoops. There can be a waiting list. And then there can be delays. So don't get discouraged and don't expect this to happen overnight. Just keep calling and bugging them. Be patient, but be persistent.

I've been w/dr kemmeter since 11/07 and he's been wonderful. I initially had dr. zoe deol who did the lap band but she closed her practice down and i needed a physchian and he was very willing to take me on as a patient, he even explained to me that he still had a patient w/the lap band who flew in from GA because there were no doctors that would take him/her on as a patient and that's when I knew I had a great doctor.

I had a lap-band and as of thursday I had a realize band placed and the doctor care was amazing! with my first band while i was in the hospital i only saw my surgeon twice, that was before i was put to sleep and then the other was when i had an upper gi to make sure everything was set to go.  w/dr kemmeter I saw him before i even had my IV, after surgery, later that night/early morning (i think lol) and then once before i went home.  he's an amazing surgeon/doctor and I'm excited that I'm a patient of his!

I feel  your frustration on waiting.  I had planned on having my surgery in November of 2008, but I wasn't able to have it until February of 2009.  Have patience and keep your faith in your decision.  I can't say enough good things about Dr.  Foote.  He is an awesome Doctor.  I liked him because he tells you like it is, answers every question you could possibly think of, and encourages you to do what "you" want to do.  I wish you all of the luck on your WLS journey!
