Question Regarding Carbs

I now that as a WLS patient I need at least 80-100 grams of protein a day.  My question is, how many grams of carbs are we allowed?

I have heard for every 2 grams of protein you should have 1 gram of carbs.  Is this true?

Any suggestions would be appreciated.  I would like to bring carbs (breads, pastas, etc) back into my diet but in moderation.

i was told to stay under 150grams a day... but every surgeon/dietician is different...

start small... eat your protein first, veggies, and THEN carbs, if you have room...

The nut told me 125 per day.  I hear other people say 15 grams per meal.  I have not had much luck yet with breads and pastas.  I miss toast.  I can eat wraps and tortillas with out problems.

I like the fact that you had your surgery with Dr. Genaw, as that is who did mine.  I am more apt to agree with the NUT on that but I have to also realize that you may or may not be at goal.

For me I was within 15 lbs of my goal, maintained that for about six months then let it slip away.     I have done the 5DPT this month and gotten away from the carbs and now am only 29 lbs away from my goal!

I'm hoping to get a few more responses before I decide....I know some carbs are good.....but at the same time I don't want to take away too much and become sick!

I try to keep my overall calories in balance.  40% protein, 35-40% carbs, 20-25% fats.  Typically if I get about 40% carbs, once I subtract my fiber to get net carbs it comes out to about 35% carbs from calories.

Most of my carbs come from veggies, fruit, legumes/beans, dairy and limited starch-based whole grains.  I avoid pasta and rice.  The only bread I do is Arnold Thins once in a while or whole grain, low-carb tortillas occassionally.  I pretty much avoid all "white stuff."

Here's an example of a typical day's breakdown
(I track food in FitDay, so it does the math for me)
