Any support groups Downriver?
I have my final eval appointment tomorrow ( aka the all day Friday appointment) I meet with the dr to get my date, then data person ( to register addmission?) and then out patient person...not sure what all that entails and was wondering if you could share your experience so I have some idea of what to expect.
They say its all day but I was ther maybe an hour and a half if that!! You see the nurse for your final weigh-in to see if you met your weight loss goal, mine was ten pounds, if you do then they schedule surgery here is the bad part....I had this appt. Oct. 30th & the soonest date he had for surgery for me was Feb. 7th!!! Almost 4 months!! I was so disappointed I wanted to cry, but luckily I exceeded my weight loss goal, had never had surgery before, had no medical problems what so ever and he said my case would be so simple for him that i would get bumped up if there was a cancellation or if he had 2 easy cases in one day he would make me his 3rd ( he only does 2 per day). So he remembered me from that week and the next Thursday Nov6th @ 5pm they called me and Wanda said, you still wanna have surgery right?? I said yeah and she said you have to weigh in 1st thing monday a.m. and you have to not have gained an ounce! I was panicked and I had to come up w/ my $1,000 dollar co-pay! So I had 3 days to prepare for my surgery and I had it Tues. Nov 10th. But anyway as soon as you meet w/ the nurse for 5 minutes, you see him one last time for 5 minutes then see Wanda and she sets everything up for follow-ups for pre-op wiegh in and post op follow ups then off to the library you go which she just makes sure you filled that research info out & signed everwhere you should, it took maybe 10 minutes if that, then in pre-op you hand them a sheet of paper and walk out, its pretty fast & simple. Hope this helps!!
