Had Orientation today
I keep seeing people post about being too heavy for good results from VSG. What makes you too heavy? Ideally, what should your BMI be under for it to be sucessful? Also, I have only skimmed the paperwork, but I have the same insurance as her and I don't think the DS is covered.

Actually, with my insurance, the DS, RNY and VSG are all covered.
I do appreciate the 'bluntness', and everything you have said has been going through my own brain since I said the word 'Vertical Sleeve'.
I think I was scared of the surgery, and I kept hearing Dr. Foote say that the Vertical Sleeve is less invasive, just over what a lap band would be,and I felt it would be an easy surgery. Lately though, I've been hearing various things about DS, and am going to start looking into it.
I was assuming because the VSG is only available to me if my BMI is over 50..that it is the surgery that would do best for me. I really hadn't planned on deciding what I wanted 100% until I could ask the doctors more about each of them, and then make a decision.
I hear ya regarding me needing more than restriction..you are SO 100% correct. Thank you for being honest and talking to me.
Anything about DS that you care to share with me would be great, and any web pages w/further info..please share.
