Good Afternoon all!
I was slacking on posting today but then I saw the pic of the sweetest little sweetie pie ever...DUB! and it inspired me to check in and say hi.

I hate winter, and I'm totally depressed about this stupid surgery and all that goes with it.  Picture me sitting at my desk right now with a scowl on my face and my eyebrows all scrunched down.  Harrruph!!!

QOTD-I would find one of those hotels, I think one of them might be called Dream, that specializes in total sleep comfort.  Then I would sleep and watch TV for the entire weekend.  I don't like to go out to eat by myself, and if I go someplace cool I want someone with me to talk to about it.  So if I'm alone, I'm sleeping!

Hope you all have a good day!

Hi Brenda,
Sorry you are depressed about the surgery. If there is anything I can do please let me know.

What's wrong?  Are you having post op complications, or are you still having a limited diet and that's got you down???  Inquiry minds......

Hey Edie,
I'm on a pretty much regular diet now.  No complications and I'm healing up just fine.
Just like with the first RNY, I am having a little trouble with solid protein, but I have been using shakes to supplement when my pouch won't tolerate stuff.

I'm discouraged because I'm eating like a bird and have only lost 3 lbs. since surgery on 12/16.  I really thought the revision would kick start some kind of weight loss, but I guess not.  Even Dr. Katz said he's not sure why I'm not losing any weight.

I think my next course of action is to get my jaw wired shut.  Do they still do that?  LOL

Thanks for asking.

That sucks royally, all that and 3 lbs, I'd be pissed too.

Do you have PCOS?  I know that's why I had such a hard time loosing pre op.  Have they checked your thyroid?

Just throwing possibilities out there for ya, but I'm sure you've already thought about it all.

Sorry,

Edie

Hey Edie,
I don't think it's PCOS from what I know of it.  I don't really have any of the symptoms except for the weight gain/retention.  The doc has checked my thyroid and also for Cushings Syndrome, which seemed like it was going to be the answer, but it wasn't.

For the moment, I'm just a medical mystery!  Not to the extent that you've been through, but enough to make me mad at the world ; )

Like I said, if I'd been through all you've been through I'd be pissed too.

Hope they figure us both out soon :)
