Not wanting to eat.
Good Morning All,
I have a question for you. I am finding myself not wanting to eat. I am still eating by the clock because I have no hunger(thank you rny). I do not miss having the hunger or craving for food. I am worried though. At this point I would be happy just drinking my protein and other liquids. Is this a normal stage?? I do make sure I eat 3 to 4 meals but it is a chore and I eat less than a
1\2 cup. I do watch my calories and take in around 700 to 900.
Thanks for your input.

Cheryl,
For me that was normal at that stage. I went through a period where it was a 'chore' to eat and quite frankly I just didn't have an interest in food. But that changed so enjoy the tihe time while it's happening. I had some of my best weight loss during those few months. But it does go away - at least it did for me. I'm now 10 months out and I am now feeling hunger and my body tells me when I need to eat instead of me feeding it because I know it's time to eat. From my experience, it's a phase that will pass.
Take care,
Nan

Well, Cheryl, one of us is not normal! I find myself getting hungry and wanting to eat. Sunday we went to a brunch buffet. The only thing I got was a chunk of prime rib, probably at least 10 ounces. It was about 3/4 - 1" thick and medium rare. Yum. Well, I thought I'd eat until I got 'the feeling' that I had had enough. The feeling never came and I ate it all. I was really surprised, and now terrified, because I was able to eat so much. Didn't get sick, didn't get 'the feeling' nothing told me to stop, not even common sense. I was truly enjoying the meat. I didn't eat for the rest of the day, so probably I got enough protein in for the day, but IMO too much at one time. If I were you Cheryl, I'd not worry. Enjoy the phase you're in. I'm sure you're still losing quite regularly.
I went to the doctor today, and I got my 1" back. They measured me at 5'6" again! Yeah. I'm 2 lbs from my doctor's goal for me and 27 lbs from my own personal goal. Hopefully by my 1 year anniversary I'll be down those 27 pounds.

I concur with you. I find myself being eleven weeks out from rny to not having the desire to eat. I want to eat but when I go to the freezer or fridge, I instantly lose my tastebuds. Last night I ate a half teaspoon of mashed potatoes and threw the rest away. I really need help in this area because my protein intake has been extremely low.
