it is difficult to eat noodles and pasta after surgery.

when you are allowed or think you are able to handle it . You really have to chew up the noodles because they get stuck.

You can lighten them up , by using Skim Milk and low fat cheese,

Have you tried putting a scoop of vanilla protein powder in you cottage cheese, Blen it in the blender It taste like cheese cake. You can also add a 1/2 tspoon of SF pudding to it too. I use SF cheese cake pudding, but you can use a flavor you like

Cheryl, I hear you about the stuffed cabbage.  We call them golabki (pronounced gwumpkey).  My husband says mine are just as good as his grandma's and better than his mom's or sisters.  What a great compliment.  I too don't make them wl friendly.  They have to have rice...never tried brown rice, but I limit myself too, so it's ok.  I don't have trouble with pasta, rice or bread so I'm unlucky in that respect.
Mary, drinking chai tea (protein of course) this morning.  Tastes sooo good on this damp cold morn.  Gary is going 4 wheeling with the guy next door, and I'm going in to TC with his wife to a chili cookoff.  Then when I get home I have to make little smokies wrapped in crescent rolls as an appetizer for the euchre party we're going to tonight.  Hope Gary comes home in one piece.  I really don't want to miss this euchre party.  It's being held at the home of a couple that belong to the Harley Chapter up here, so we're getting to meet some really nice people.  Harley people are great people, not scarey at all like some people think.
The 'Joe' stuff you posted for Pam T. looks really good, but kind of pricey isn't it?  Well, I guess maybe not, if you buy a starbucks at 7-11 it's probably $2.50 or so right?  If you decide to order it let me know how it is...or, if you want to order it and split it with me I'm game for that too.  I could get it April 30th!
Today is going to be a busy day.  Hope everyone has a great one.
Jan
PS.  Prayers for a fast recovery for Jody who had her TT yesterday (I think).  Hope she can get on here and let us all know how she's doing.

We met a bunch of great Harley people this past year on a couple different rides we did.  They were the most fun loving people, really great.  When we went to the Abate conference last weekend and saw all kind of us "bikers" I laughed and told my husband that if you put them all in their go to work clothes we probably would see a lot of Suits !  It is hard to tell when they are dressed for biking.  I also Love Euchre, that is a card game I grew up on !

Too bad you don't live closer Sally, we could be biker buds.  We've been playing euchre for years.  I love the euchre parties.  We've played with my cousins quite a bit lately, but we have to watch the guys...they try to steal the deal and renig...I'm sure they get away with it alot too.  :)  Buggers!

I just saw that and thought that they were steeing on Pam's recipe.

If we all had been smart we would have grouped and pattened pams tea and coffee.
then started our own company. LOL

And I think it is way to pricey too.
I am not going to buy any I like Pams recipes.

Hi Jan - thanks for the thoughts and prayers.  My TT got postponed until Tuesday - bummed!!!  But it was for the best... I wasn't absolutely 100% sure I wanted the anchor cut and he wanted me to take the weekend and think it over.

Jan,
My husband's family is Ukrainian, and they make those cabbage rolls (can't remember what they call them) with barley instead of rice sometimes.  Ick!

Do you put hamburger in yours?  They usually do, except for Christmas Eve, when they can't eat meat, so it is just rice and the other stuff they put in there.

Yes, I use hamburger and rice.  Gary's grandmother is from the Ukraine and his grandfather from Russia.  Great combo when it comes to foods!

Good Morning everyone, strong black coffee in my cup, gotta rev the engines up today, going to go back to Auburn (not Auburn Hills) to visit my mom and go to a Confirmation class reunion tomorrow morning.  I will check out and see if I think I look older then all of them...LOL.

QOTD:  You know I had to really think about this, I have never thought of any individual food being my comfort food, I like all foods to much. (hence needing wls)  I guess if it was anything it would be Spoutcen soup, don't know how to spell it.  It is like a real heavy noodle dough that you drop by the spoonfuls into boiling water or a soup base.  No making them friendly, they are just eggs, flour, salt and milk.  (hmmmmm, going to mom's today, maybe she will make me some)  Haven't had any in a while, I only make it maybe once a year, mine are never as good as Mom's !
