Hi everyone - if you didn't see my reply to Jan's post, my TT got postponed until Tuesday...

Had 2 protein coffees this morning, thinking about making me another protein drink. Got behind on my protein for the past few days because of pre-op prep and will again on Monday/Tues.

QOTD:  My pre-op comfort food was carbs - crackers, potato chips, etc - I haven't figured out how to make them WLS friendly - lol - I just don't indulge very often now, and measure out how many I can have versus sitting with the bag or box on my lap!

I don't know if you've tried Pop Chips but they are very good.  You can have like 22 chips for 120 calories or something.  I prefer the original flavor.  Also, it's hard to explain but they are really filling.

I haven't tried them post op because it's still early for me but..... they do kind of melt away so I'm thinking they could be eaten like a crispy cracker.  Of course they are made from potatoes so maybe they wouldn't really work for a WLS food....

On the subject of snacks and comfort food:

I was a real party food junky-chips and dip especially.

I tried this recipe this weekend.  I had 3 of the chips and left the rest to the boys.  The dip is great on veggies, or a small baked potato, or to dip the whole grain crackers in.  I used no fat greek yogurt and light mayo and it still tasted just like the onion dip I used to eat a whole carton of pre-op!

Hey Jody-
Spend the weekend bending over and picking up everything in your house and moving it to waist-level LOL

Seriously, it was a little while before bending over was comfortable for me.   Luckily, I have the guys at home who I constantly called and asked to pick stuff up!!

Tuesday will be here before you know it!!

This summer is going to be so great without that hangy bit there!

I was up around 10am with a mug of protein coffee.  Caught up on my DVR -- Grey's Anatomy and Private Practice -- then got to work on homework.  Now I'm taking a break to surf a bit before getting back to the books.

QOTD -- PIZZA!!!  Instead of ordering a medium Hungry Howie's double pepperoni and mushroom pizza to eat myself like I did pre-op.... now I make a Tortilla Pizza.  Low-carb tortilla shell with a pizza built on top -- turkey pepperoni, mushrooms, sliced tomatoes and mozz cheese -- baked in the oven at 400 until the crust is crispy.  Yummm!!!  I've got a "pizza basket" in the fridge so I can whip up a pie instantly and be enjoying it 20 minutes later.

My Recipe Index is packed full of yumminess!
