I put stuff like that outside for the deer (or whatever other animas are out there lurking in my backyard).  One day, I poured 3 boxes of expired cereal out in the backyard.  Later that day, we had 20 deer in the yard grazing on Rice Chex and Raisin Bran.

Good morning!

This morning I made a scrambled egg with some fat free cheese, I could only eat half of one egg, I am still struggling with the protein issues. My doc  said 60-80 grams a  day and I am at maybe 20-25 a day-- help!

QOTD
Gonna go through my pantry today for the first time, I am not too sure what goes or what stays.

When you're first out, you can depend on protein powders or protein drinks to get the majority of your proteins in.  I always use vanilla protein powder in my coffee in the morning.  If I don't have coffee, I make Pam T's protein chai tea, which I love too.  26 grams of protein in a scoop.  Give it a try.  If you need the recipe, check out Pam's blog.

In the beginning, shakes are the only way you will be able to keep up with your protein requirements.

Just sitting here drinking some decaf vanilla with some caramal macchiato creamer.. I do not even add any sugar or splenda to it! I am trying to drink coffee in the morning to get myself a little more energy. LOL

Just gonna head out a little later and run to do some errands then come back home to relax.

QOTD: I go through my pantry alot... I tend to have to organize everytime I shop. I know I am a freak like that but I also do not have that large of a pantry... I do have an extra 5 shelf rack in the basement with lots of stuff that is overflowing.... I get alot of stuff on sale with coupons that is cheap and I stock up... I do eat pasta so we have that down there but I only eat whole grain.

If I find something that is expired I always throw it away... But if we do not eat it I donate to family members before sending it off otherwise.. But when the mail carriers do their collections I ALWAYS donate to them... I like to help out when I can.

I also go through my clothes alot to and also have a bag or two in the basement ready to go to Purple Heart at any given time. ROFL

Good morning!  Been up for a while.  Had my coffee...and some oatmeal.  Had a piece of toast with PB, too.  Dub's napping and I'm trying to clear some of the clutter.

QOTD:  I don't have a pantry, per se.  But my "pantry-like" cabinet is full.  I don't overstock on things except toilet paper and paper towel.  I try to keep a couple weeks worth of canned goods/dry goods, but that's about it.  So, most stuff gets used before it goes bad.

Ho hum kinda day.  I want to nap b/c Dub's 2nd tooth is coming in and he hasn't been sleeping very well.  But now that he's napping, I NEED TO GET SOME STUFF DONE!  Maybe a nap this afternoon will work out.

Just signed in ...  Hello to All!  This morning I had my usual cup of tea with Splenda and skim milk.  I haven't had my surgery yet - still awaiting insurance approval - so am planning for the middle of February, hopefully.

What's this "protein coffee" that everyone is mentioning?  Sounds like something I want to tuck away for after my surgery!

QOTD:  Right now my pantry is purposefully looking low - my kids are complaining big time.  About every 2 months I let it run down so that I can see to the back, just to use what we have and get fresh stuff in there.  I'm going to the grocery store tomorrow, so that will make the family happy.

I'm happy to be part of this forum and getting support and info from all of you!

Linda
