Jody-
I saw a sign this morning (downstate) that said Remote Start $99, so I do think $250 is too much!

Also, I just wanted to tell you to plan a lot of down time after your plastics, oops, I mean, reconstructive surgery.  It took me a lot longer to recover from that surgery then it did from my RNY.  Hope all goes well for you!

PS-one more thing-get yourself some loose fitting pants to wear for like the first two weeks.  You'll need them to accomodate the drains and then the swelling.

Yes - they advertise $99 then when you tell them what kind of car you have, then its $xx for bypass for keys, etc etc etc.  Oh well....

Yes, I'm just a tad bit apprehensive about the recovery period (heck - about the whole operation all together!)   I've got 4 weeks approved off from work (with more if needed).  I bought 2 pair of sweat pants in a larger size than I wear now for comfy factor and drains.  I've also got some BIG sweatshirts from pre-op days I'm going to be wearing.

I have a question - I'm getting just a TT with the anchor cut  - will I be wanting to wear a bra afterwards?

thanks for your well-wishes - I sure can use them!!

Unfortunately, I didn't have the anchor cut.  I really wish I would have, but my doc said I didn't need it.  (I did, BIG TIME).  So I can't answer your bra question.  Sorry.

He talked me into it - but I don't think I really need it that badly - I'm still in a quandry of whether I want the scar or some loose skin....

Jody,

I had the anchor cut at the end of September and I did wear a bra . .  but someone told me to get white men's tee shirts (they are longer then woman's) I tucked them under my bra to keep the bra from rubbing against the incision. I wore them under my shirts for the first month.  Also someone . . I think Brenda told me about "bio oil" for the incision . . I get it at Walgreen's, I am still using it on my scar and I can't believe how good it looks.

Good luck,

Kristy

Yes - I had someone tell me to get the mens t-shirts to wear under the compression garment to keep it from rubbing.

Always good to hear about products that work!  The scar is my biggest concern.

Thanks for the info, advice and well wishes!

Good morning.  Doing my usual thing...coffee, playing with Dub.  Not going to the inlaws, today because tonight starts symphony rehearsals again.  My hubby is staying home with Dub tonight, while I'm gone, for the first time for more than just a "quick run to the store."  I'll be gone about 5 hours and he has to do bedtime.  I'm sure he can handle it, but I know he's a bit nervous about it.

QOTD:  Hubby and I usually don't exchange gifts for Christmas.  My inlaws always give us cash for Christmas.  And then my birthday is in March and my inlaws give me more cash, so I pool that money and splurge on myself.  Last year when I did that, I got 3 Coach purses...caught a great sale at the Coach outlet!  But before Christmas, this year, I got an ipod touch so my hubby could have my old ipod (how I got him to agree to that rather than he get the new ipod touch, i dont know).  I also bought a new laptop a couple months before Christmas, so I didn't need/want anything for xmas this year.  I have been laying MAJOR hints for him for a Mother's day gift....(i.e. jewelry).  We'll see what he does!

I am finally here !  I had to go to the dentist for 8:00 this morning and also needed to get my yearly bloodwork done, since I work from home now I have to make a special point to go to these places so I did the bloodwork first, it was a fasting, and took my protein coffee with me to drink on the way to the dentist (had mouthwas with me to rinse the smell of coffee away, I try to be nice to them).

QOTD:  Well, this was a tough year for my DH since I told him no clothes this year, I work from home now and have a closet full of clothes that I hardly ever wear.  Well he did great, my favorite gift from hims is a necklace with a key on it that has a few of those little diamond chips on it, it is a key to his heart.....awwww, isn't he great !   I really liked everything I got. My oldest son and DIL got me a PANDORA bracelet two years ago and this year they gave me a charm with their baby's birthstone in it.  I don't buy anything for it, I let the kids do that, I know it is hard for them to think of things for me for Christmas every year and this way they can fill it.  (need to give hints for them to get me the stones for the rest of the grandkids next year...LOL)

Well, stay warm and have a safe day !

The drive from Saginaw to Waterford was better this morning than yesterday ... but still not great.  Lots of blac**** and lots of super bright sunshine that blinded me from actually seeing the blac****  So it was a slow go.  Which caused some general grumpiness on my part.
