It's Tuesday. Where is everyone?

ok...I have to ask...my mom has Parkinson's and slight dementia, but for the most part, you wouldn't be able to tell.  She has some dexterity problems from the parkinson's but nothing major.  She is always cold and I was thinking of getting her one, but wasn't sure she'd be able to "handle" it as far as getting it on and off.  I really try to get her things that will allow her to be independent, but she struggles with sweaters and jackets and can't zip or button things by herself, most of the time.  Do you think this is something she would be able to handle?  I was thinking it might be because it's "backwards".  She has a hard time swinging things around to her other arm, like you would a jacket.  Does it fasten in any way or is it open in the back?  Can you put it on without the use of your hands (not that she can't use her hands) but I am thinking if you can, then she might be able to handle it.  LOL! Such probing questions regarding a snuggie.

Shane's is basically like a big robe that you put on backwards.  There are big sleeves and no snaps or buttons at all.  They only thing I would worry about is the length.  He is taller than me and the bottom gets tangled up sometimes when he walks.

Yeah...too long would not be good.  I would have to have my MIL alter it for her.

QOTD -- I got a set of pans from my parents. But mom knew that they weren't what I wanted but what I wanted was out of her spending budget.   So we took them back to the store and I got a set of Cuisineart plans.  Normal price was $540 but I got a super great deal on them at abut $150.

Brenda - why don't you like the Pandora bracelet?  Is it the style of chain he got or just that you don't like the concept of the charms?  I'm sure you can sell it to a friend or on ebay or Craig's List if you need to.

Pam-
I like the idea of the bracelet, but don't like that it is stainless steel.  I want jewelry that I can leave on day in and day out.

I also don't like how they look with just a couple of beads on them, which is how mine will loo****il I'm like 95 and can get my great grandkids to buy me some more LOL

I looked on Ebay but the resale on them is so low, it's not really worth it.  I'll just hang on to it and use it to make DH feel guilty about not getting me something I wanted.  Ahhhh, married life is grand.

They aren't stainless steel.  They are sterling silver.  I wear mine 24/7.  :-)

DUH on my part.  It is sterling silver, not stainless steel.
The girl at the jewelry store said not to get it wet EVER or it will tarnish and look like crap.  But, I believe Pam more than that crooked chick at the mall :)

One more question for you Pam-are all of your charms Pandora or have you gotten some of the ones that aren't?   I like the cost of those that aren't more, and I could fill it up faster with less expensive charms, but I wonder if they fit the bracelet correctly.

Geez, you guys must be on Dave's side.  I had him feeling bad enough to get a new Kate Spade out of him.  Now if I start wearing the bracelet I won't get it LOL

Yeah!  Believe me.  I know everything, dontcha know?  LOL!

All but one of my charms is Pandora.  The other one is Camilla (filligree one).  Pandora, Camilla and Troll are all three companies started by brothers -- Pandora and Camilla are interchangeable, but Troll is smaller and don't fit either of them.  I'm not sure about other jewelry lines that might fit Pandora... but I'm a bit of a silver snob, so I want my charms to be sterling silver so it doesn't get funky on me.  Plus when I have my bracelet and charms sent through the jeweler's tumbler, a cheapy one might not survive.

I've actually discovered that I like most of the silver charms from Camilla better -- they seem to have more detail.  Although they are also often bigger than the Pandora, so you'd be able to fit less of them on a bracelt.  I don't like many of the Camilla beads that have the crystals - they seem a bit gaudy, but that's just me.  I think the Mirano Glass beads are a high quality in the Pandora line than in Camilla.

Pam, we SO could not hang out every day.  You know too much and make me feel lazy!  LOL

Thanks for the info. on the bracelet.  I'm going to wear it and then get it cleaned.  I will also count on my friends and family to remind my husband to buy me charms often.

I do remember you mentioning getting some when you have reached certain goals.  I like that idea.

I still have 30 lbs. to lose before my commemorative tattoo, so maybe I'll just get charms before that happens.

Thanks again for the info!

Go to the mall and get a Pandora catalog.  Then find a Camilla store (the one I go to is in Frankenmuth) and get one of their catalogs too.  Then... go through the books and circle all the charms you love.  Then make sure Dave knows where to find those books.
