Thanks, I am sure I will have questions for you...going to do the radiation first. My concern is if I have had it in one and 2 benigns in the other what are the chances it will come back. I do not want to keep going through this every couple of years.

Your Onc should be able to answer that question.  When I was going through all of this I was debating whether or not to have both breasts removed (my cancer required that the affected one be removed, plus I was 41 at diagnosis, no family hx of cancer and I was only given a 30% chance of survival).  My onc had stats that we went over and if I wanted to I could have had a consult with a genetic counselor, they will discuss BRCA testing, (that's the blood draw that tells them if you have a genetic link to breast ca) family hx, your current path report and what that means to your future breast health.....all of that should be available to you at your onc's office to help you make a decision on what to do.

When do you start radiation?  Did they get clean margins or are they trying to shrink the tumor??  Didn't you say your mass was on your chest wall?  Will you need chemo?  Do you know your receptors yet (ER, PR + or -) are you her 2 neu positive?

Sorry for all the questions, I just like to get a handle on what's happening.  I like to make sure people are getting all the care they deserve (there are allot of crappy onc's out there....mine included :) ).  Let me know your status and I may be able to give you some questions to ask your onc and rad onc., that may help you in making decisions.

When I was dx'd I had no family hx of cancer and knew no on with cancer, so it took my hubby and I a few weeks to get a handle on everything happening to us (I say us because it does affect the whole family), we (ok he) researched the crap out of everything and let's just say I was not getting the treatment that better facilities around the country were giving to their patients with the same dx.

PM me if you don't want the world knowing these answers LOL.
